When will we se the test subject again?

I think that we will see him in EP3 as, AFAIK, EP4 is not developed by Valve.
IMO Valve would want to have greater control over the development of a game if an existing character is going to appear in it.

Also, it would be interesting to see how exactly the subject will be introduced -
after all, the events of HL2 occur 10 years after the events of Portal (Accoding to the employee who contacts you at the aperturescience.com game).

My guess is that either the portal character will be placed into stasis by the G-Man (isn't this idea getting a bit over-used now?)
or the stasis could be induced by the portal gun itself.
 
Maybe he's the BM survivour in EP2...
 
This is assuming Portal is set around the same time as HL2.
Apart from the gravity gun-portal gun simularities Portal looks like it will be set around HL1.
 
I don't think it's really necessary to put the test subject into Half-Life series... it will spoil it. Just not fit.

Too bad they already confirmed that he will play a role in future Episodes. And how do you know he won't fit? The only story info we have about Portal is a very cryptic trailer and a very cryptic website.

I'm guessing there might be a cameo or reference to him near the end of Episode Two, and he'll play a full role in Episode Three.

Portal is related to HL, yes, but that doesn't mean that the main character in Portal's got to appear somewhere in future episodes. Having him appear soon... is woolly, TBH. I'd think none of the existing cast of members knew about Portal.

Laidlaw has already said the Portal character will become an important character in the HL universe.

I think what he was implying is that it'll be more likely Half Life 3. But as Valve probably aren't thinking that far ahead yet, I'd say Episode 3 or maybe 4. There'll be no reference to Portal in Episode 2, because the link between the games is made in Portal itselfm not the HL series.
 
Maybe aperture science are the employers and the GMan is the test subject which became their #1 employee. Just a FAROFF suggestion, don't flame me :P
 
As it has been said, the Portal character is a new person. So it is not G-Man.

Plus, that would just suck.
 
Well... the subject will be a woman. Some theories here need to be changed a bit :P

NEW character.

If the turrets are anything to go by, portal takes place during the same time as hl2, or at least during the combine occupation due to the use of energy bullets. Unless of course those turrets are placeholders. Certainly possible since according to the new information the player model seen in the vids is definitely a placeholder

Half-Life universe > Half-Life games (ie: Gordon's story). Just because it's set in the same universe, it doesn't necessarily mean Gordon will meet her.

On the subject of merging the two stories together:

lol, it would be awesome though to just be jumping through your own little maze and suddenly this person starts jumping through the walls around you and continues on beyond your vision in a blaze of jumping and falling. Hahaha
