How do you think the story will advance over time. Do you think the other enslaved races will allie with humans and take the war home to the combine?
Will we finaly find out who or what the hell the G-Man is?
All these questions and much more, discuss here.

We'll learn about Gman in Episode 1, the fate of most characters, the destruction of City 17 and the Citadel and then we'll see where it goes from there. Episode 1 could very well prove to be simply a conclusion to HL2, and they then go back in time to flesh out more aspects of the story.

Or they could simply carry on from Episode 1, but I'm not sure where they'd take it.

Make that we'll learn somethingabout Gman in Episode 1. I very much doubt, that we'll learn everything, but we'll propably get some hints on his nature and motivations...

Well i figure we will get some solid facts. Or at least facts given to us by the gman.

It will certainly be interesting to see G-man's motivations for bringing you back to the Citadel. That should certainly provide some insight into his motives.

Maybe it turns out he has emotions and wants to bone Alyx just as much as Gordon does. :|

Should be very interesting. Getting to know alot about the things that intrigue players most about the game will up the 'playable factor' alot. Hopefully many side-storys can be addressed as well as have lots of little details that add to the suspense and theorys of the game.
As for whether episode 2 carries on after episode 1 is debateable. I think if it did, it would have to change alot of aspects in order to keep players wanting to play the episodes eg. no one would want more escaping city17 if its just more of the same.

I agree if they make episode 2 to continue the story after episode 1 it would ave to be damn good to keep players interested. I would be disappointed if the story wasn't developed more but I would still play it, it's Half Life after all.
The strange thing is I wasn't surprised when they announced the episodes, HL2 kind of felt like a pilot episode if you know what I mean.
I would love it if they made episode 2 about the 7 hour war, that would be awesome!

Well, the thing about the episodes has been known pretty long now, so when they adressed ep.1 it wasnt realy news... Allthough many people reacted as it where.

Episode 2 wont be about the war. It will be about veachles.
I figure that the war will be a full game.

No, they are basing episodes on gameplay they want to establish. Vehicles. It doesn't mean it won't be about this or that storywise.

Who says Gman brings you back? From the vid, he sounded pretty annoyed, as if something was beyond his control. We don't know what exactly, but I have my doubts that the events in AM are orchestrated by the Gman.

But i see it pretty obvious that episode 2 will take place pretty much outside the city. Seeing how you just escaped city 17 and now face Alien populated wastlands. So finding some sort of transportation whould be the best plan.

But yeah... Know that i think about it, The 7 hour war whould fit perfeclt in a episode, althou you whouldnt achieve anything. Since we all know how the war ended. But it could sure do for some cool gameplay.

I really wouldn't like a vehicle based episode, because I didn't enjoy the vehicle sections in the full game, maybe because they were just too damn long.
The 7 hour war would definitely be cool and the fact that in the end you loose would certainly make it different, in every other game it's the same your the one man army and you always win.

Yeah but i kind of like that feeling.

But the missing week i think, should make it to an entire game. Its a week for crying out loud.

That is why they are doing a vehicle based episode, to improve the vehicles as a whole. The idea is, take a specific gameplay element and enhance it.

Who says Episode 2 continues on where Aftermath concludes?

If they enhance the vehicles in Episode 2, then I suppose they'll become much more innovative and fun, and not become too reliant on either, because that would not suit all players.
A bit like Alyx really, shes enhanced and more fun to play with, but not so reliant on that your using her to do everything for you. Although you still need her. If that makes sense.

Who says it doesnt?

Since Aftermatch ends after you run away from city 17, and now face wasteland i just thought that it whoukld make for some intresting gameplay or whatever.

But it could end like blue shift. or something

Alyx: We made it Gordon, we made it!

*Citadel blows up*

The end.

Episode 2: 2 weeks later at a rebel base.

Nah... I dont think thats good. But then, i havent played it yet.

Well I think that the story will continue like this:
Episode 2: the rebels survive in the wastelands and find a way to disrupt the Combines inter-dimensional tech so they don't send reinforcements.

Episode 3: the rebels send Gordon to another enslaved world to try to start a revolution there too, or they somehow manage to link all the enslaved worlds together and they all go to the Combine home world and kick their asses. But I think that's gonna be in HL3.
