You have to know though, Seppo, the greatest things that come out of 4chan aren't the images. Or, not the images singularly. It's the threads they're in. Rarely is an image so clever that it's funny by itself. The thread itself is usually the funny part, and images augment it.

But a thread without images is almost always fail. Thats why every thread is required to have at least one.

Doesn't a lot of 4chan humor come from 2chan? 4chan humor is very similar to Japanese humor.

I'll only respect you as a pro channer, Darkside, is if you go learn Japanese and become a 2chan regular.

Very little of 4chan humor comes from 2chan. In the past we'd take things from there and twist them (pedobear wasn't originally a pedo, for instance), but that hasn't happened in years.

I dislike 2chan. I used to visit; I can read enough Japanese that I can navigate the boards and decipher some of the posts, but I dislike the place. It's unorganized and unfunny. I used to visit other .jp boards, mostly oekakis on artists' sites. The only Japanese board I ever visit these days (and infrequently at that) is a Nintendo oekaki, for drawing fanart of Nintendo characters.

You should know, I don't visit 4chan for anything Japan-related...not unless it's porn, and even then not really.

Sage goes in the e-mail field.

It basically allows channers to post in a thread without bumping it, meaning people can throw abuse around in terrible threads and if enough people sage it will eventually be deleted or marked for deletion.
 
Although it doesn't make threads disappear faster, so saging with just "SAGE!!" is totally pointless.
