Epic does. And most of the time newfags use it wrong. Everytime you guys say, "Epic win!" "Epic fail!" you're probably being stupid and using it wrong. Everytime I see that shit I think, "sage," but oops, I can't, because this isn't 4chan. So why's it being used outside of 4chan? It is a mystery.

But who made it popular? That's just it. The point is that people go to 4chan and they come back with some HI-LARIOUS image and meme, and they set about to using it wherever they go.

Eventually it all comes back to 4chan. If you post 4chan stuff, it's leaking out. You don't have to go to 4chan, you don't even really have to know it comes from 4chan, but you're part of the problem. Especially when people then condemn 4chan. I hate it. It's like watching hypocrites converge.

Go back one year in the forums. Go back six months in the forum, for that matter, and older. Search for facepalm. Go ahead. What is there, two? Both by the same guy?

Now search for facepalm in the past week.

It's not so much that it appeared, it's where it came from. It's what popularized it on the internet. Nobody was facepalming. Here's another example: lolcats. Nobody was doing that before. Nobody. So who did it? 4chan. And then that spread.

Who popularized Tay Zonday? You better believe it. It's over 9000? Us too. Centipedes in your vagina? It's likelier than you think. Nyoro~n? What group of weeaboos would've thought that up? Oh, right, weeaboo, there's another. Shoop da whoop? Who shooped first? Probably those guys who liek mudkips. Pedobear's seal of approval? Did you just get rickrolled?

That's the point I'm trying to make. All that, ALL of that and more, has appeared on this forum. Try to contest me.

Yeah, but stupid trends multiply exponentially all the time on these forums. Doesn't matter where they're from... noobs and veterans alike on these forums just seem to propagate these stupid trends.

I wouldn't feel bad or as if I'm missing something if all those stupid little things just up and vanished one day.

I'm all for us having our own stuff. We have good stuff! We've got...what've we got...we've got awshens, and werewolves, and...other stuff. We've got No Man's Land, my personal favorite. We have our own community identity, with our own trends. That's great.

It's just that the bulk of everything on this forum is from 4chan. I know YOU don't care where it comes from. I'm just saying, man. I've always tried to keep the two separate. I think I've actually been a 4channer longer than I've been on HL2.net...I can't be sure because I've been on here for four years, and 4chan celebrated its 4th birthday this year. But I've always tried to keep the two separate because of rules 1 and 2. And then people started breaking them and I tried to shut them up. Alas. And then other people--like you--say, "4chan sucks." Then they go to the image dump and hahaha, where did you get that? Imaeg so funnay!

Bothers the hell out of me. So I know you just dislike it because it's "stupid trends." I care about it because, "stupid trends brought in newfags who ruined my shitty home and made it shittier."
