Why didn't Valve name Gordon Kleiner or something, then we wouldn't have these stupid threads.

even though this has been discussed ever since hl1 was released, it is still a possable theory. Though there is some counter evidence to that theory
 
gman has a widows peak so unless gordon for some reaons decided to get plastic surgery, there is not possibility

G-man is defenitly not Gordon Freeman (eye color/hair-line/+no glasses -this is the future right so why not use contacts before he becomes old?)

They obviously chose the name very carefully. The whole time in Half Life 2 they keep telling him hes the last FREE MAN so its not meaningless at all
 
um plus a huge theme in the game is about time travel/teleporting, so it wouldnt surprise me at all if its gordon from the future

i always thought the g man was shepard cause he says when u complete opposing force that you shepard remind the g man of himself so maybe the g man is shepard in the future :S

i must admit - i don't know who the gman really is. ;] but there is something that bugs me about why we never hear gordon speak..

is it because valve want you to imagine your own voice as gordons'?

or is it because we have already heard his voice. from the future..

I gots an idea :)

gman is gordon from the future (old theory I know) and too explain the widows peak...it is because in the future, gordan is older, therefore perhaps is balding and has a reseeding hair line :p

G-Man is a simple name for a government man. I find it highly unlikely that it is short for Gordon Freeman (note the O in Gordon. Gor-don.).
 
Isn't G-Man a term that the fans came up with for him (not saying they invented the term, just that they applied it)? This pretty much automatically destroys any possibility that they're the same person. Not to mention that they look nothing alike. And who really imagines Gordon's voice to sound like the G-Man's.
