im in singapore for a vacation and im using this pc that we got 3 years ago. the type of RAM is pretty rare to get and kinda expensive. here are the specs

Dell Dimension 8200
P4 2.26 ghz
40 gb of harddrive
2 * 128 mb PC800 RDRAM
Geforce 3 Ti 200 64 DDR mb

The problem is that i must have 2 memory sticks of the same type in order for the RDRAM to work. is there any cheaper solutions cuz it cost US$41 for a 256 mb so two would be $81 without tax. im not willing to pay so much. i just wanna play Half Life 2...

Because they're rare. Have a ein wunderbares tagges. Or some shit like that.

It used to be the only ram that pentium 4 williamettes used. It is extremely fast and expensive, but only 32 bit.

It's not extremely fast... RDRAM is expensive because everyone hates it. Once upon a time it was supposed to replace conventional SDRAM, but DDR SDRAM killed it, with its better performance for cheaper and without the hassle of needing a pair of RDRAM sticks plus continuity sticks in the empty sockets. So it's inconvenient, slow, and expensive. Stay as far away from the stuff as possible. If you need to upgrade it, yes, it will cost you around that much, give or take. IMHO, it would be smarter just to get a new motherboard, RAM, and processor.

Yeah, you are right. i might upgrade the motherboard that supports DDR Ram of PC3200 and an AGP slot. not planning to get the PCI -Express ones. it only cost at least US$80 ($50 for the mobo and $30 for the 512 mb DDR SDRAM PC3200) which is a better choice than upgrade my 2 RDRAM.
