I have an idea that Gordon Freeman is actually the g-man and visa versa. Have any of you guys seen fight club? One of the two guys was just a thought up imaginary being while the other guy acted out both of them because he was a scitzo. So thus Gordon Freeman is a scitzo and the reason the g-man can do anything he wants is because he's imaginary. This picture I found also supports my idea.

Hmm, it is possible and your picture shows that they both have the same melon head.

However, I doubt Valve would make an imagenry person based off a film, it would be a bad idea.

Also, you see G-Man talk to scientists and even physically touch him (with the use of noclip) he is a real person (a human). ;)

So did Tyler but Edward Norton's character just imagined seeing him do the actions instead of himself.

But the thing that proves this split personality/imaginary friend theory wrong is the fact he's been sighted in every Gearbox expansion.

So what about the teleporting from Nihilath's Chamber to C17?

Edit: BTW, g-man is goatse-man

Maybe... Just maybe... Gordon imagined the whole Black Mesa incident and killed everyone in the Black Mesa Research Facility, scientists, security guards, - everyone! And in Half-Life 2, he imagines some Science Resistance Team which doesn't even exists, and the imaginary G-Man orders him to eliminate Breen(who is actually the good guy)!

ZOMG GORDON IZ CRAZED!!11

OR MAYBE HE DREAMED EVERYTHING ! 0MG

That would make for the worst story ev0r :D

the picture you found doesn't support your idea at all. That picture is supposed to make it look like g-man and gordon look alike, but in fight club, the two personalities looked nothing alike whatsoever.

I personally see no resemblance between gordon and g-man, but the picture doesn't support your argument. and besides, valve would never do such a cliche thing.

... wow....intresting theory.... never been done before I see..

Reasons why the G-Man is "the Gingerbread Man"
- OMG! NEW G-MAN SIGHTIN'!
- "Run, Run, fast as you can! Can't catch him; he's the Gingerbread Man!"
- His lifeless eyes are reminiscent of raisins
- Has never once stepped in water, suggesting he'll go soggy if he were too.
- Talks about Ashes in the HL2 intro, suggesting he has awoken from a bad dream involving an oven and a forgetful old lady.
- Talks about "Time" a lot, suggesting a preoccupation with cooking things just right.
- "You are man...he is not man...he is gingerbread man...for you he waits...for you..." as said the Nihlianth in HL1

One Good Reason why the G-Man is not Gordon Freeman:
- it's 98% less interesting or original than him being a man-shaped Cake.

Edit: And what is the picture supposed to show particuarly? OMG?! When you put a semi-transparent picture over a translucent one, you get a picture that combine elements of both! OMG! John Major and Maggie Thatcher were really the same person, except Maggie is a later version returned from the past with the help of Michael J Fox and a dancing troupe of flourescent potatoes!

I don't really support my idea myself. I was bored at like 1 or 2 in the morning and was looking for pics of aftermath and I came across that one. Then I thought maybe just maybe I was on to something. But I do know the g-man is a different guy I just wanted to see what other people thought about it.

The G-Man is Gordon Freemans father.

G-Man - Gordon....I am your father.
GF - NO!!!
G-Man - We'll see..about that!

You can't rhyme man and man! they're the same words! AHH!

No, I don't know, ignore me.

lol, i like this theory, i've seen fight club, it could be a cool ending sometime

OMG, i just found out who g-man is! GMAN....is....GMAN....never thought of it that way! NOW WHERES MY NOBEL PRISE1!!

And who is that?

Has anyone heard the theory that G-Man is actually Gordon Freeman from the future?

(Gordon Freeman)

Yes, and it really isn't true. Remember, gman isn't even gmans name - so you really cannot use the Gordon Freeman as an argument for it.

Of course, they would never use such a cliched plot as an experiment in the middle of a secret government base blowing up and unleashing havok on the world, either...

Welcome to the time before Jesus.

The idea of a schizophrenic Gordon doesn't make sense because G-Man clearly has the ability to present himself and interact with others.

Now, you could say "well, Gordon imagined everything!". Yes, that is also possible. It is also an extremely shitty idea and we should completely rule it out just because of the aforementioned shittiness. That kind of low-blow curve ball would ruin the series. Perhaps your theory would have some credence if there was anything remotely suggesting some kind mental illness Gordon suffers from. But there is none.

And while your overlapping images show some similarity, it also makes it difficult to study them individually. There's been numerous posts describing how dissimilar they are as well. The fact that they look somewhat like each other is weak evidence.

Except, if the detail of the games is anything to go by, there is a deeper and more interesting subtext underneath those events. And we're not entirely sure how the Black Mesa incident relates to the Combine invasion.

More important, however, is that those events are interesting and effective tools for plot development. The idea of G-Man being Gordon, despite being nonsensical (as has been shown time and time again yet people never bother to use the ****ing Search function), is incredibly lame. It certainly doesn't inspire any excitement from my end.

GOrdon Freeman =/= Gman. Get over it.

are you implying that the entire premise of half-life is cliche? i cant recall anything else that has done that exactly. and that is way too vague of an example. on the other hand, something as blunt as 'gman is gordon from the future' is just ridiculous and seriously a downright terrible idea.
