Xbox owners, I need your help

I just bought a vga box to play my box on the monitor in 480p. The problem is that I don't have a tv to set it to 480p with. So if one of you would give me a step by step instruction as how to get there It would be greatly appreciated. An example would be: Start your xbox, move down two spaces, press a, move down 2. ect.

Turn on your Xbox, plugged in to the TV with standard-def cables, go to video settings, change to 480p, turn off, plug into monitor with 480p cables, turn on.

Either that, or read some online instructions.
