Before this place dies completely, let's share our best memories.

TollboothWillie was my best memory, we had written a HL2.net fanfic based on STALKER's Chernobyl. Its pretty cringey now but the idea of community together with people I've never met was rather heartwarming.

I vaguely remember that with Koola Mena being a big art of it. being Ukrainian and all. I wouldn't take back the time we spent on that for anything tho. It was so fun so make up a story about members.

My favorite memory has to be pretty much knowing I spent a decade of my life here with you idiots. I love you all like a ****ed up internet redneck family.

Also, dragonshirts and The Great CyberPitz posting his poop on the forums/rubbing muscle relaxant on his balls in steam group voice chat moments. Also being banned ave me major street cred.

Damn. I'll have to think about this. There were so many memorable times.

Good to see you though Solaris!

Tollbooth willie is definitely a favorite memory. Along with people like Asus, Chris D, Raziaar and so many other originals. The good old days of waiting for Hl2 and sending emails to gaben before steam was even a thing.

One of my favourites has got to be when I was hosting one of the hl2.net dedi servers for Left 4 Dead. Played the hell out of that game back then and got to know a few members better through that. Good times :)

All good memories posted so far. Other memories that come to mind are the Image Dumps, Photoshop Contests, and the infamous Christmas Roulette.

I cannot imagine what some of us look like now. Self Images revival?
I'll do it if you do it. I'm 30 now. Last time I posted a selfie here I was 16. I wonder if I could find it and post a comparison shot.

Jesus christ. I'm 25 now. The last selfie thread posts were probably 5 years ago.

I always enjoyed it when people who stopped posting long ago, who you thought you had forgotten about, randomly return for a one off post only to disappear all over again.

There's many, but the first that come to mind are Pi's Christmas Roulette, and every post from A Bike. The hijinks with Cpt Stern, Darkside, Photo Edit Contests, D Colon (even though it didn't even get off the ground), me and Veg trolling people way too hard, HL2Net gaming in BF2 and several other games, especially ARMA.

I know there's more but I want to save some for other people. Also, if you look at the members section in any of the "top ____" categories you can see that all the vets are in our thirties now. **** man.

Not yet, grandpa.

I'm just as egotistical as you all may remember me being, so most of the high points in my memory are the community reactions to things I've created and posted here. Building a reputation as a pixel artist and flash animator here is something I took pride in. I even enjoyed my more objectionable reputation as a pedophilic weeaboo that valued his own opinions and ideas quite highly. I liked (and still do) becoming a caricature of myself. I felt people had expectations of how I should act, and I enjoyed meeting those.

I fondly remember the rise and fall of BlueWolf72, though that was a bit after the real hay days.

Just last night I was reminiscing about the thread we had for original music creations. HL2.net had its own little IDM producer circle.

I also recently told someone the story of my encounter with Hetairia (as much as I could remember) and how it was pivotal in my teenage emotional development.

The newbie welcome threads were frequently a great source of entertainment for me.

I remember I used to put favorite quotes in my signature. I think I still have some in there now.

Just remembering names and avatars gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. As long as I keep hanging out with the hl2.netters I'm currently hanging out with on Discord, the occasional reminiscences will continue.
