UPDATE: False alarm, this is an old story and Google has since changed their plans to the overlay ads we reported earlier.

It would be pretty bad if youtube did that. I mean, they may have to cover their costs... but it'll piss a lot of people off especially since not all videos are very long. So if someone is watching a short clip, and has to watch an ad longer than the clip itself, that would suck.

It'd simply be better to put them on the most popular videos instead.

Hey that's actually a pretty good idea. Most people would be tricked into watching them, but those who don't want to see them can just not watch them.
