You said in a mail that was in
the
halflife2.net Forum, that you are in the "Zulu-Delta phase" ... that
sounds
very good and nearly be finished. But Doug Lombardi (the Press-Guy of
Valve?)
said you want to reach the Beta-Phase in the E3 time ... but at E3 he
said
that you aren't in Beta phase ... yeah but now, whats correct?
Zulu-Delta
(near release) or Beta (near release too) or arent you at beta stage?

Please, no more people ask what 'Zulu-Delta' means, it's embarassing. Clearly HL2 is in Proxy-Octaflop phase.

Dork means "Whale Penis".

Yeah, don't take everything seriously please. The mail wasn't a fake it's just that Gabe can't remember saying it.

I dont ask what Zulu-Delta means!
But Gabe said he never heard that ... that will mean the mail who 'he' was saying somethin about Zulu-Delta was a fake mail ... thats the matter

Heheh, either Gabe made a joke at the time and has forgotten, or the poster made it up for a laugh.

Either way I think its funny! :P

on topic, yeah it was totally a joke, the e-mail was the person suggesting zulu delta phase, and then gabe said "hey i like that" pfffffff c'mon people :)

edit: gabe never said they were in zulu delta phase. the person who e-mailed him suggested that phrase. and then gabe replied.

You can't really 'sound' like something through e-mail... I don't see how anyone could actually take that seriously... especially given what he says afterwards...

Hmm but this Bill-guy who mailed mr newell first, didn't say anything about zulu-delta ... mr newell answer that he called this phase the "zulu-delta" phase ... and in my mail, he didnt hear this anytime ... something must go wrog in my head (do i forgot somehting?) or mr newell didn't remember (joking ;) ) or someone faked something ... (i hope not)

Yeah', you've right ... and my english is bad too, maybe its a big fault of me ... i will go to a wall and will try a big hat and i must rest there until the lesson is at the end .. :(

It takes about 30 seconds to read an email of 2-3 paragraphs. Replying to it takes another 45, allowing time for composition, writing the actual email, and the message getting to the email server. That's 1:15 for every email you see.

Valve, being good guys who care about their community, read just about everything we send them and reply to a good chunk of it. Let's say they reply to 20% of our emails.

Let's further imagine that Gabe gets 200-300 emails a day (probably lowballing), Rick 150-200, and Doug 300-400 (more since he's the marketing guy). Taking the low end of those estimates, we get 650 emails, meaning the three of them spend AT LEAST 5 hours and 25 minutes a day JUST READING OUR EMAILS. 20% of 650 is 130, so they spend approximately 1 hour and 38 minutes REPLYING TO OUR EMAILS.

We learn two things from this:

1) Valve spends over 7 hours -- almost one person's workday -- TALKING TO US.
2) By sending pointless, stupid emails like the one above to Gabe, we are essentially shorthanding them one person toward finishing HL2.

They don't have to be so nice to us, but they are. Don't abuse the privilege.

SOMONE STOLE MY ZULU-DELTA JOKE??? and took it seriously?

I am shocked daily by the gullability of the human mind.

Anyway that reply i got was real, I think valve has a team of 300 worker monkeys answering all there email randomly.
