In that case i should be able to install straight from the CD. But when i run the setup program nothing happens. The screen turns black like something is starting, and then it just goes back to the desktop like nothing happened.

It's not an image, it's just a regular game CD (an original). It's very old though, so i'm guessing that when you run the setup on the CD it automaticlly reads the CD and tries to run this other file to install (the file is in a different folder on the same CD). And it's this file that's not...
