Hit indicator like the one you have in HL.
This way you could easily know from which direction you are being shot.

I thought of this when I was playing CS:S without sound, which actually was easier than with sound, you won't get distracted by any sound.. it was really relaxed and you could concentrate on what was happening on the screen. The only downside was that you couldn't hear from where you were being shot.

But even with sound you can't always tell, especially as the positional audio sucks.

I couldn't play without sound. Sound is more of "my eyes" than my eyes actually are most of the time. :hmph:

Would ruin CS.

I would disagree. To make the game a little more "realistic" they should have it. You would know where you got shot from if it were real life (most of the time).

In real life ? If i get hit in my leg or arm ? I go down to the floor and start crying like a little bitch ;)
Not thinking.. het i got hit in my left arm at the side.. so they must be on my left.. ;)

yeh...but if u get shot from behind..you know u got shot and then its process of elimination...none in front see blod splatter in front of u...HES BEHIND U OMG!

what if ur surrounded..yeh didnt think of that did ya, besides having the red things is stretching it a bit cos ur supposed to rely on sound, vision and the force

in real life if you get shot once or twice, you generally go down. in CS you can get hit up to 10 times or so. This is not realistic, so why make the rest of the game realistic?

Do you KNOW who I am??? I'll give you a warning this time but next time :flame: :flame: :flame: :sniper: :dork:

Also in real life there are not more than 10 people that are EXACTLY alike and in real life if u got shot in the kneecap with a shot gun you would be knick named stubby...but its a comp game!

How could you play CS without sound,I always found it much easier with sound because I can figure out which direction the enemy is coming from by listening to the footsteps,no downsides for me playing with sound.

My speakers were out for a week and I tried playing CS and was pwned multiple times because of the fact that i didn't her the footsteps coming behind me to headshot me with the AK

exactly

WHY CANT WE ROCKET JUMP!! I WANT SUBMARINES WITH WHEELS GOD DAMMIT

lol sound is an integral part of cs gameplay and hit indicators would ruin the scilencer thus making my tmp useless!!!

If you were playing against me, you wouldn't get a chance to see where you were hit from ;)

.... Until it was Too late MWAHAHAHAHA

... Ahem.

If you get shot in reality it's not certain you will know even where you got shot... you may just get numb, or collapse or maybe you'll just feel an intense pain not knowing exactly where. If you got some light shot wound I guess you could tell from where the bullet came.. maybe.

But as the game is already so unrealistic, why not?

If nothing else I really think that your reaction time improves when you play the game without sound. That is because the brain will get half the load, only worrying about sight, not hearing. That's my theory anyway ;)

Actually I thought they always had hit detection. When I get shot I turn to face the enemy, and I haven't made a mistake yet... Weird. I'm probably just high or something though.

I'm pretty sure I'd be more worried about the hole in my arm than where the bullet came from..

hey do us a favor, get shot in the head in real life then tell us if you can tell where the bullet came from, thanks in advance

dont the red things that appear around youre crosshair when you get shot show where youre being shot from ? :dozey:

^^ i always thought that too...often i dont have the time to turn anyways...especially if they are right beside you or something.

and yeah - shouldnt bring up realism in relation to cs...Some things are, most however arent.

It would make it a little more realistic thats for sure. I mean hell If I get shot In my leg I'm gonna know if the bullet hit me in the side of my leg or the front/back etc you know?

But also in real life if you can't hear you probably wouldn't know. If they did hit you, you would be weeping in pain. How about we add shock colors to the mouse and keyboard or like a chain that connects to the usb port and the chain goes around your neck and shocks you like a bitch when you get shot to feel the pain.

Cs is a SEMI-Realistic Shooter.
:)

ok with sound i suck ya know why its because if you can hear foot steps coming before the person then you know they are comming

I'll second that. Could make the game more interesting.
