My first model ever created in 3ds. It's a swedish sniper call AG90. I've made it for our mod called "Seven", and got some really good hints from my teammate stertman. Any comments or advices of what I can do better? /palm

The rear-part is somewhat too heavy I think, the carrying handle is way too small and the holes in the nose-part are a bit too small, at least when compared to this:

There are also some smoothing problems in the rear and you could also start using XSI instead of 3ds . Otherwise the model looks pretty good for a first model.

why switch to xsi ? .. if hes comfortable with 3ds i dont see why.
atleast 3ds can export models ?as for the gun it looks pretty good i wouldnt worry about the back or the handle too much it wont be seen ingame.

Just kidding about that, but still I think it's just stupid for a beginner to invest thousands of euros or whatever just to buy a 3d-editing program, because the XSI is just as good (still hoping for that exporter-update though..).

there is a free version called gmax..but quite frankly i dont think that anyone on these forums has bought max. having said that ..i got it on ebay....stop stareing at me

max is just as good as xsi, just in another way .
(i saw "Autodesk 3D Max 8" today at the Autodesk stand at this triad fair)

i dont know i did a google search of that gun name and it is either a similiar gun or just the same gun used in like a different country because some countries name the same gun different things.
This model looks good the scope looks a lil small, on most pictures i saw it was in proportion to the gun.

AG90 = Automatgevär 90, (m82a1) there are two versions of it A and B. B has a shorter barrel and the more robust bipods. And some other small not so noticable things. A little comparation.
No texture on the ag90s.
