September 29, 2004 - It appears some over eager webmaster at VU Games updated the official Half-Life 2 website with an announcement that Half-Life 2 has gone gold and will be in stores on Nov. 23rd. The story has since been pulled. On the bright side, Gamers-Depot posted a screen capture of it.

It might just be a lame hoax, but ya never know...

been posted probably about 50 times, the screencapture wasn't from an official hl2 website, it was domrandomdomain.com/hl2/index.htm or whatever.

I am willing to bet it will be out around Thanksgiving time in the States... and within days in other countries. A meeting we had today was suggestive of this, and also said that the only thing pending its publishing here, was the OFLC giving it an official rating/possible changes having to be made.

And while many will doubt this, i also was spot on with the contects of collectors edition from the vivendi reps. Heres my post, before it was announced

I posted this in another thread. Im not even sure what some of it is (WC3 CE) for example. This was in an email from a Rep at Vivendi universal to my company. So im pretty confident in this. I know that it seems farfetched and that no one is likely to beleive it, but hopefully they will release it officially soon to give this atleast some credability.

I know no one will beleive it, but time will tell. And hopefully a relase date will be announced. Our reps had been very quiet with us till now.
