I never said it was harmful, it just isn't nearly as productive as some seem to believe.

They are not going to find out who I am by a simple picture, at least it is unlikely, and imagine, if we all don't wear masks, what are they going to do? Take the time to harass all of us? Screw that, if I am taking my time to protest an injustice, I'll be sure to show my face.
Maybe you're right. But the masks also foreground the utopian ideals which are as much a part of anonymous as shitting dick nipples are: the idea that any idea expressed by any part of the group is only ever as valid as any other, and no more important. With no identity, any idea or argument must be taken entirely on its own merits. It's not just cowardice.

I thought the point of the masks was to highlight the steps necessary to avoid litigation from CoS. How naive of me.

You could have just corrected us. Come to think of it, you're right that the masks probably make more of a point about anonymity re scientology than actually having a useful function.

I think it's silly to wear masks at such events out of fear. Fear, and they win.

A person from my protest location had his garage broken into this week and had only protest materials stolen (signs, protest pamphlets, paints etc)

Did I mention he lives near 2 $cientologists?

The douchebags that megalomaniac dwarf hires as security guards will go to the ends of the earth to track just one person to make as an example. A clown from the Paris protest was assaulted by a group of them last week I believe, and tried to place the blame on him:
the mobsters got really tough yesterday
I was videorecorded in the street (they are not the only one to take pictures or videotaping....)
so one guy went mad run after me I had to take shelter at a drugstore around the corner
blocked the entrance with my body :!: :!:
three guys went after me trying to get in and grab me outside and get at my bag (where was my camrecorder)
I asked the lady in the pharmacy to call 17 she did it right away( local for 911) they blocked me physically holding my wrists and my forearm violently
I yelled out for help and said "this is how $cientology take care of critics " one of the assaulter yelled" help me " :?: :?:
while holding me with two accomplices the thuird one trying to get at my foot to get me down
one girl from the cult came and said panickly
"let him go ,released him"
the police came around at the time
we showed the factsI was "the bad boy filming wiothout authorization" :?:
I made my way out after a few words with police
I went to the police precinct for a testimony
I went to my doctor and had a xray
I 've got bruises on my forehand and writst and slight bone and nerve dislocation
I went back later the afternoon showed them my arm and xray
the cult and this very lady called the police for "harassment" :?:
the police took me to the precinct "handcuffed" Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad and I was takern away in the police precinct
and I stood in a waiting room for an hour and then ... :: got released :?: :?:
this afternoon friday Iwent back to the police precinct and filed a complaint against my agressors
and tomorow I 'll be testifying in the medical police department
wow what a day
I never used any videos or pictures (just those who were ued in justivce with benoit the boxer and jean OTVI the deefamer)
and when I'll do it(it is going to be soon)
I'll be using blurred on faces and mosaic
voila end of report
I'll get in contact with all my political and friend support

I am not dead yet
but I won't work and hold my clown suitcase f or a while
I am going to be away for a time now
I can't stand it any longer
these gangsters are too dangerous
five aggressions are the last I can take
I am left handed and they ruined my hand and forearm for a while
these guys are real danger to our country
I saw rachid K yesterday at the celeb 'center
so he's back from sardinia :?: :?: :?:
As a Frankish sympathizer, I can't let these clams get away with this sort of crap.
They attacked a clown ffs. :|

Mmm, scientologists remind me of those kids at school that do shit all the time but get away with it by blaiming it on others and acting innocent. Double Standard stuff.

I am surprised the Autopsy photos of Lisa Mcpherson are not used more often as a protest tactic, then again, they wouldn't want to disrespect her family.

It creeps me the **** out that they'll photograph you and put you "on record" just for protesting. Since I cant wear a mask or anything i'll not be going.

I will however check it out, since theres one taking place only a few minutes away from here.

EDIT: Oh, I meant to respond to this also:

I never said it was harmful, it just isn't nearly as productive as some seem to believe.

And I think its more productive than some believe. I mean, sure, protests dont have much success in shutting down establishments, and I think that you would be hard pressed to find an Anon who actually believes that we can stop the Church of Scientology. However, that's often not the point in protests, and that goes for this one too. The point is to bring Scientology into the light, put it under scrutiny, and put it under the public eye. The more people that even hear just a faint whim of what Scientology is, then the less people Scientology can con into their pyramid scheme. And if you think that cant happen with protest, then I think you're just being silly. Already Anonymous has gotten the attention of major news networks. They've been reported on several times already, and its becoming a hot topic in the news. Throw in the fact that this is one of, if not the largest internet community mobilization to date, from a community that, at least in the News community, has a fairly notorious reputation, I think coverage will be massive. I mean, how could it possibly not? The largest internet group gathering not under any person or organization, but rather under one idea as group of everyday people, standing up against a well-off establishment that has incredible power, must garner the interests of news corporations.

We dont predict any sudden and dramatic change in the Church of Scientology. We're given only so little power in protests, but if enough people hear of it, then we can actually do something. And I think there is going to be a massive turnout.

the scientology guys sure are sensitive, they don't want anyone to know what kind of idiots they really are. and i'm amazed really how can anyone even beleive that crap in the first place? then again, a lot more people believe the bible too...

Repeat after me: it's not the beliefs, it's the Church we target...

Reports have been coming in of Anon who have been named (and some who haven't, but have been investigated) being Fair Gamed. The masks are there for a reason.

You can't wear bandannas or sunglasses? Everyone can wear those...

Im not 100% sure on Florida's law, but I believe that, while protesting, you're now allowed to wear anything that covers the face.

The scientologist picketing outside of the guy's house pissed me off the most.

I can't quite believe that the cops actually turned up when the scientologists called; surely they must be used to bullshit claims from Co$ goons and learn to stop coming when wolf is cried.

Well, in Clearwater, Florida, the so-called "mecca" for Scientology, quite a few policemen are renowned for spending their off-duty time working for the Church of Scientology, claiming the same authority as they do in their actual job as policemen; Arresting, etc.

Edit: Here we go. Footage.

Scientology likes to keep a private database of all persons who tread anywhere on their property. Pictures, video, audio. You name it.

We should have a public database of all known members of Scientology, or at least those who present themselves such as that gentlemen... the people who put themselves out there in the name of Scientology.

makes sense to me, but getting that info is very difficult i am sure

I fully endorse this.

I'd go to a protest, but I don't think there's even a church in my city, let alone a group of people preparing to protest there.

i just figure their information is kept more secret/better documented due to scientology

They don't work like that, you've gotta look for auditing centers. Over here they're called "dialog centers". Anyway, I did find this - http://66.102.9.104/search?q=cache:...ada.htm+scientology+canada&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1

But you should just go here and pick a protest - http://forums.enturbulation.org/viewforum.php?f=52

That's how I found a local one in Denmark. There's a catagory for Europe, Asia, America, etc.

There isn't a church near me. Oh well.

I'll be there in spirit, guys.

God damn real life, getting in the way of protests.

it's a protest. you don't think rationally when a protest is in question. it's anarchy man wohoo! like... anarchy and stuff. you know.

No, but I would love to. I'm surprised and disapointed by people here who see protests against scientology cult retarded or something. Is Anon meme "Their cake is a lie" really that stupid?

yes it is ..especially since they're the only people besides gamers who get it ..why use a slogan that your intended target doesnt even know what it means?

there's nothing wrong with protesting a religion and it's idiotic practices ..however this is more circus sideshow than legit protest ..I wonder how many people even understand the issues

hey at least they're getting a ton of attention, which is what they want right?

but they're getting the attention not scientology ..scientolofy takes a back seat to people wearing masks and chanting internet memes

A half dozen dead-donkey 3 minute segments isn't a "ton of attention" anyway in my books. Really, how many 'average' ((i.e. not big internetting) people do you know actually saw the reports of the last protest on TV and remember it.

i didn't. and i don't know anyone who did. oh well i thought they're getting attention but i guess they aren't then. lol

i promise, i will no longer talk about stuff that i don't know anything about

Andreas Heldal-Lund, founder of the Scientology-critical website and non-profit organization Operation Clambake, released a statement criticizing the digital assault against Scientology.[16] Heldal-Lund commented, "People should be able to have easy access to both sides and make up their own opinions. Freedom of speech means we need to allow all to speak - including those we strongly disagree with. I am of the opinion that the Church of Scientology is a criminal organisation and a cult which is designed by its delusional founder to abuse people. I am still committed to fight for their right to speak their opinion."[87] He also stated that "Attacking Scientology like that will just make them play the religious persecution card ... They will use it to defend their own counter actions when they try to shatter criticism and crush critics without mercy."[4]

Mark Bunker, a Scientology critic who runs the website XenuTV.com, posted a video to YouTube and asked Anonymous to tone down their campaign against the Church of Scientology.[22] According to NPR's Morning Edition, Bunker has "become a revered voice to many members of Anonymous," and they refer to him as "Wise Beard Man".[88] Bunker told Newsweek that he was concerned for the safety of participants in Project Chanology: "I know the way Scientology works: they're going to get these people in trouble ... I'm very concerned about their safety, and I'm concerned about the Scientologists' safety, too."[5] Bunker stated that he has received 6,000 emails from individuals who say they are part of Anonymous.[5] Bunker attended the February 10, 2008 protest against Scientology in Los Angeles.[89]
