I might probably won't although one of my friends is going to the one in edinburgh.

I have to admit, it would be quite fun, but I would hate to associate myself with either Scientology or Anonymous.

Me has no "anonymous" in Russia.
Russia cold, has KGB (aka FSB)

A half dozen dead-donkey 3 minute segments isn't a "ton of attention" anyway in my books. Really, how many 'average' ((i.e. not big internetting) people do you know actually saw the reports of the last protest on TV and remember it.

My dad for one, my brother, a bunch of my friends, and I overheard a lot of conversations talking about Anon and Scientology when I was just lounging around at my school after the last protest.

ummm Why do we care? Scientology doesn't deserve our attention or our time.

It's stupid.

Scientology is more than just stupid, it's criminal, insidious and evil. I just don't think Anon protests are useful, and as Wisebeardman says, they may be counter-productive.

I do hope I'm wrong.

So does WBM. Have you seen his videos lately? His last one had a Guy Fawkes mask on top of his Emmy.

OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

theres a registered Scientology church 10 minutes from me in my local town!!!!!!!!!!!

unbelivable!! i never, ever thought that it would reach our place.

i must see this place, it's so close i can't even believe it. i'll wear a hat and some sunglasses. i don't want them to be filming me and harrasing me latter.

****...i literally had an elevated hearth rate when i discovered this. unbelievable

edit: hell we even have the raelian church. upon checking their sites i was amazed at the stupidity some people believe. it really saddens me

Don't go there alone. Generally, if you're not part of a protest, do not go near any of their "orgs", because they do watch who comes by and what their pattern of bahaviour are. A disguise won't do you any good once they follow you and find out where you live, who you are, and who your friends and neighbors are. They're in no way whatsoever beneath this type of behaviour, and chances are that if you do this, they WILL film you, and then most likely follow you.

:upstare: i lol'd for a long time

this protest sounds like what anon did in sydney this year

wow you scare me. is that true? man what the ****, that's some serious freddy krueger shit right there

i hope these suckers never reach my town or else i'm out of here

He's serious. It's been documented. Tamphex, one of the primary organisers of the Sydney 10th protest, was discovered and tracked down to his flat, where he was photographed repeatedly. One anon was tailed by the same guy who tailed the reporter in that BBC Documentary, and only got away 'cos a group of Anons (wearing Guy Fawkes masks) saw and came to the rescue, frightening the tail away with their presence. Loads of other ex-scientologists or Anonymous protestors have been tracked, face taken, numberplates noted, and that's how they ended up with a list of names to put on their court injunction.

Back when I was a wee lass, I read dianetics and got interested in it, enough to take a bus ride across town to one of their centers. They showed me the e-meters, how auditing would work, all the books I could buy, etc. That was one day, over 20 years ago.

Ever since, whenever I move, some of the first mail I receive is some kind of lie-entology crap. Even when I don't file a change of address.

It's creepy.

honestly i'm scared a bit going there, especially cause i'd probably be alone.

my plan was to go there with my scooter, license plate covered, sunglasses, helmet, possibly a hat and my S2 canon camera (12x optical zoom).
the building is not in a very accessible place so it wouldn't be easy. but theres a hill nearby i could take some shots.
getting to the front gate won't be easy, since the building is literally near a one way road that has a concrete wall one one side an almost none parking place.
i was thinking if i'd get somebody to go with me on a hit and run, but i don't know anybody who'd do that and besides i don't want to get anybody in trouble.

i'm still a bit shocked. i always though Scientology is that king of thing you see on tv, the thing you'd never see in "real life". and now i find that i got a church in my back yard (metaphorically speaking). after further research i found that it's the only official "subsidiary" of scientology in our country. damn we're a small city of 40000 citizens. ok we do have a really strategic location (vicinity to the border, sea port, lot's of tourists, road connections...) but seriously i never thought it would reach us.
but then again, that's probably what they want for conducting their dirty operations.
forgot to mention that their building is located in the more "luxurious" part of the city. think of it as a mini "Beverly hills"

edit: ohoho...i just found that the leader of our Scientology church is also a veterinarian and from what i managed to gather his clinic is in the same facility as his church is registered. hmm makes me wonder. i also found out the approximate number of members of the church.

I went to a local smaller protest instead - and you know what they say about the Co$ tactics? Absolutely true. First hand.

EDIT:
Not to mention one of the protesters claimed they were part of a small group of hackers-for-fun who had looked at local scientology archives and found evidence of them using a loophole in the Data Protection Act to get people's personal details from the credit card companies.

I think we have some friends at wikipedia.

Man, shit, that's awesome.

I was chained to my house this month, but I'll hopefeully be there in April.

Well, where abouts in California be you?

Southern. LA county, but farther south. Over by Balboa Island and Newport.

Well, I know there were protests at LA, San Fran, San Jose... maybe Sacremento...

Oh, look, you can use paint. You must feel so proud.

The ability to instantly move from Serious Business to Rickroll in two seconds flat is particularly amusing.

The Church of Scientology is still calling Anonymous Terrorists, though.

Damnit, photobucket doesn't like direct linking.

Those Guy Fawkes masks are ultra retarded.

www.anonymous-exposed.org

Better Scilon propaganda lol.

Those Guy Fawkes masks are ultra retarded.

True or not, they really assist with the protests. Very psychological thing. Also, hides the face so you don't get Fair Gamed. Additionally, people look happy all the time.

Maybe happy isn't the word. Energetic, maybe.
