Ways to ask without going too far out on a limb:


"Are you thinking about going to prom?"

"What would you say if I asked you to prom?"

"I don't have a date to prom yet."

Do not ask, "have you been asked to prom", because either she has, and then you are shut down, or she hasn't, but doesn't want to admit it, and she will make something up.

Desperation:

"I'll give you $125 if you come to prom with me."
 
Ask a friend, you don't have to be cute about it, just polite.

Simple as that.

First of all, don't. She'll steal your soul. Stay home, and play video games, if someone asks you if you're gay and why don't you want to go out with a girl, say 'I don't want to spend all of my money on some bitch who I'm not going to spend the rest of my life with/get poontang.' The only realy person you should go out with would be a real good friend, and only if there's a long-term chance.


Isn't it funny how the people who don't have girlfriends have the best advice?

But this is about asking a girl to prom, not asking her to be your woman.

My advice is unless your little heart is absolutely set on your dream wedding and dress...sorry I mean prom and suit (your totally not obsessing like a woman or nothing....) then my advice would be to just not go, do something better with your evening, theres plenty of places and things to do with friends,why feel pressured into going to one night of pointless postering, you know the prom king and queen will end up working at WAL*MART and McDonalds respectively. anyway.


If you don't have a date, then ask, don't be all scaredy cat over it, she's only a teenage girl, as hormonally messed up and new to the whole thing of asking out as you, so just dive right in, she doesn't accept, fine, don't hang needless importance over it, shrug it off, and spend that evening doing something else, assuming you have an iota of ambition, you'll be getting poon at Uni/College anyway in abundance.



But yeah, again, as a UK forum member, I never had to deal with no prom shite TBH, and no-one could care less either, and theres no reason to.

In the UK, school is just school, a necessary evil and were all glad to leave it and grow up and forget it ever happened.


I may be wrong but I get the impression Americans put allot of faith in this whole notion school is meant to be the awesome best years of your life. They aren't, they are awkward, boring confusing teenage years and yeah, in the UK the real fun starts at uni-college.


So rant over, just ask her, don't try any gimmicks, and try and rationally chase away the pointless fear, she's not that important enough to warrant that level of fear of rejection, and neither is the prom.

This. But I am worried college won't be as enjoyable as I am hoping. Seems like a lot of work with little cash, and it seems like it will be like High School, except all the stupid teenagers are even more liberated to annoy the hell out of me.








Anyways, anyone thinking of not going to prom, come on, don't be silly. You'll never have that chance again, even if you hate the people there, and you hate the school, it's part of the memory, just enjoy yourself.
