Autoexec problems

Okay, this is a question i've asked before, but it was ages ago so the thread is gone. I've created an Autoexec.cfg file in the directory "hl2>cfg". I added a bunch of console commands to it to fit my tastes. For example the weapons are more powerful and so on. But the commands don't load automaticlly.

I have to go into the console and type "exec autoexec" every time i die or a map loads. I thought that it was supposed to do that on it's own if you had an autoexec file.

Looks alright. Just add the "exec autoexec" line to your config.cfg.
Or you could bind it to a key :
bind KEY "exec autoexec"
(The quote marks are very imortant)

Thanks. But does it matter if i've edited the config.cfg? I edited it aswell, hoping that it would make things run automaticlly (as a result, it doesn't do anything).

no, it shouldn't matter if you've edited the config. And I don't know the exact moments when the autoexec loads, but I think it is when join a server.
