bug in the hl2?

I am at the part in HL2 were the giant laser from C&C Generals comes down and tries to kill you.

At first you go into this building, the run out and into this bunker... then into another building, then out... problem is... there is nowhere to go... There were 2 regular solders that I killed, then there is a blast and you need to fight 3 solders (one of them is in white)... problem is, there are metal doors everyone and nowhere to go...

Lawl. Before i get to your problem i would like to point out giant lazorz were in command and conquer way before generals , since the first one in fact.

Anyways , you need to pull the plug on the force field to the side of the building.

But the one in HL2 doesn't move

Yeah you walk right over to right hand side of the building where there is a forcefield, from there get out your Gravity Gun & pull the Plug & then walk up the stairs & into the building.
