I took a blow to the head earlier today, and since then I have a constant ringing in my ears. I figured that it'll have cleared up by tommorow, but its irritating. On top of that my glasses were bent when I was hit. What a crappy day :(

It's probably Tinnitus. If you're still experiencing it after a few days, it might indicate a build up of fluid in your ears, which in the case of being hit on the head may be blood caused by internal bleeding. But that's an extreme scenario.

An early night and plenty of water I think. What did you get hit with any how?

Wow... and I thought my tummy ache from too much Halloween candy sucked.

Anyhoo, you may be suffering from what's known as "tinnitus". Seriously. Google it. Then go to the doctor. Maybe go fast.

By the way, "blow to the head"... always bad. Duck and run, I say!

*EDIT* Holy crap, you folks are fast with the keys.. now I look like a tool. Oh well.

At least you don't have exploding head syndrome like me. ;(

One thing I do when I have ringing noise in my ears, is go to an environment with lots of noise, such as one with people talking and sound of traffic.

Also, if you think about a ringing noise in your ear, it can often actually create the perception of the noise. So don't think about it.

I hear a ringing in my ear all the time. Tinnitus ftl. :(

Hope you feel better tomorrow, though.

ringing in your ear? bah I hear a constant stream of voices telling me to kill things ..perferably small furry things

:O

see a doctor, ringing ear may be the least of your worries if you've suffered a mild concusion etc

I have two friends who have tinnitus, and it's not a fun thing.

It was a rugby ball BTW, passed to me at point blank range (stupid as hell ay?)
Anyway, my ear feels...kinda heavy. Does that mean anything?
I think I'll sleep, and if its still there tomorrow I'll see a doctor.
Oh and Stern, you've got me worried about concussions now. Thanks a lot :p

EDIT: Christ, I've got a heavy feeling in my left ear as well...its not ringing, but it feels strange as hell...hmmmm...

EDIT 2: I'm feeling quite tired as well, and its only half 8 in the evening. Gah. What should I do HL2.net?

I dont mean to alarm you but sleepiness is usually a symptom of a concussion ..and if if it is a concussion you're not supposed to go to sleep

see a doctor

Seriously, see a doctor. Unless an ear doctor happens to post here, you're probably not going to get any better advice. You might not want to sleep with it if there's any chance that you have a concussion, I've heard that's all sorts of bad.

I'm beginning to feel really bad now (sick, headache, etc.), so I'll call the doctors right now actually...

I'll feel sad if you die.

btw, I think I have an ear infection! What should I do, /b.. err.. hl2.net???

I got tinitus and it sucks. :(

If you die tell someone to make a post here so we can know, then cry and feel sad.

Oh, and if everything is really quiet i can hear a ringing in my ears, it's kind of annoying.

When flying back from San Diego a few months ago, when we were descending for the landing, my ears never popped or adjusted for the pressure, and it hurt pretty bad, plus everything I heard was muted and I couldnt hear anyone talk. It stayed like that for several days until my head finally started adjusting to the pressure.

Hey all. The doctor said I had no concussion, and that the ringing should stop within the week.
Still, thanks all who posted.

you know they say empty vessels make the most noise, hopefully your head didn't get emptied out by that hit, haha, no that..is lame.

Well, at least you are safe and sound.

Yeah... it sounds like concussion.

Try not to die. You have a humorous name.

That's just totally a Cyanide and Happiness comment.

"Doctor, Doctor, I have a ringing in my ear"

"Yeah, it's cancer"
