i saw it yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it, never read the comics so I didn't really know much about it, the visuals were nice, and it was a role Keanu could actually pull off, like Neo in The Matrix (not the sequels) I liked the end, too, it leaves it open but it's not cheap

Movie was different than I expected. But like the trailer...it was pretty damn cool.

Just because it's a trilogy doesn't make it Matrix-esque beyond they point of there being three. The Half-Life story is a trilogy, I guess you could call it Matrix-esque along with anything else that's a trilogy.

The movie was really cool, better than i expected. An above average action/horror movie IMO. I would give it a B+. Loved the casting though, i thought the guy who played the devil did an amazing job.

Agreed. Just one thing tho, Gabe said that Half-Life isnt confirmed to be a trilogy. Meaning there might be more then 3 parts.

Well originally they had said the game was going to be a trilogy but recently they've stated if they need to they'll make more.

Maybe they can spend three years making both and then release them a few months apart .

i enjoyed the movie as well
what i liked about the trailer of the movie is that it doesn't give away the story like most trailers do.

all directors need to learn from that.

Seriously? They are all like, 5, on all the movies there. You're saying you trust the masses of the public to base your ratings on, then, huh? I dunno, but I generally don't go by that.

Anyway, I generally don't like predictable "bad-ass" comic movies, but this is definately an exception. One scene I hated was

that stupid ass "half-breed bar" scene, and "Midnight," what an awful character. It was like, trying to appeal to the Goth audience, which never turns out good

Although, my favorite scene by far was definately when

the kid is making the bullets out of melted medallions, and he puts the cross in the water supply. John's whole fight scene with the 20 demon half-breeds with his golden cross-shaped street-sweeper shotgun was just so goddamn awesome.

Another horrible part:

when the kid suddenly gets knocked around the room and dies for no reason at all. It was so predictable that the kid would die (so Hollywood), and I knew it was coming, but I didn't think it would be that stupid.

But overall, it was entertaining and awesome, Keanu Reeves actually did a decent acting job, and the main-actress cop chick was damn hot (even my girlfriend agreed).

Satan took all of the tar and cancer and stuff out of his lungs so he would live longer. Since John wanted to die and go to heaven doing this would piss him off.

I liked the movie a lot. Peter Stormare, who played Satan, is always awesome. He was my favourite character in the whole movie.

I thought the movie was t3h r0x0r, except the theater we saw it at had a f*cked up sound system and except for the music, the only sound came out of the front speakers. WTF!

Any idea where the story is headed? The story eemed to finish quite nicely without any need for more. I will definitely see 2 & 3 if they make them though.
