Same here, Im such a nerd that I havnt even played the demo yet because Im waiting to get my new computer cause I want to play the game in full glory! Hurry up new GPU's!!

Next week friday for the UK (19th), same day as Assassin's Creed....guess Crysis will have to wait for a while :p

I'll buy it and play it if my quadcore doesn't arrive, but reinstall everything to experience the beautiful graphics and immersive environment. You could make a stunning horror survival game out of this engine.

*pulls whip out

Modders, do my bidding!

I got UT3 and CoD4, no more monez for Crysis atm :(
But I`m sure UT3 and CoD4 pay off more in the long run. I might get Crysis some other way, I only wanna see the SP.

People who are ripping the game, are just lame losers. Thank you.

If it's just an engine showoff, then why bother supporting it?

</troll>

I do not plan on downloading the game, only the extended tech demo.

Thats because they know its gonna be a good game and for whatever reason feel a need to hate on it! But thats just like all things in life when your on top or good at something people will always hate!

"Just open up your heart and let that hate out"! A cookie for whoever can tell me what TV show that is from??

I think I'm definitely gonna buy it -- For the modding potential, because let's face it: The modding community is gonna have a blast with this one, unless of course they turn back on the community like the World in Conflict team seemed to do(They haven't even gotten the map editor out yet! :D)

I retract my previous statement. This game is really fun to experiment in. (I can't say much for the game itself, though)

I've just had a few hours of fun going about in one of those wooden boats on the high seas, propelling it by power punching it, and then stealthily killing off the bad guys in the boats.

You did that too? :D
I am so gonna make a video of it with the track "rock the boat". Question is if I'm gonna have enough hand grenades for fishing! :)

Contrary to what i thought i'd be doing i'm actually going to go ahead and buy this when it comes out after semester finishes. Sure its Far Cry 1.5, but its alot more fun than Far Cry, without the cheese and i bought Far Cry when it came out so i may as well get Crysis as it looks like it'll be twice the game Far Cry was.

You play games?

Nemesis6, Crytek did turn their back on the modding community with Far Cry 1, they did an extremely poor job at supporting modders when it came to using the Sandbox etc, we shall see if they perform better thist ime around.

They gave the engine to modders way before the game came out. I think they are doing a better job already.

I was prominent in the FC modding scene before I went to source modding, so I have to call extreme bullshit on that.

Only to a very select few, I think 3 mods total, no more, no less.

^4 mods I think. And it does not really matter anyway as the SDK is coming out with the game (Or shortly after).

The level editor was pretty sweet, wouldn't mind being able to port to 3ds max and use for backgrounds in some of my projects.

1UP review is online.

8/10.

What was to be proof positive that Crytek's range encompasses more than Far Cry's merc in the wilderness becomes history repeating itself. Dumb monster apes and indoor drudgery dragged down the finale of the developer's last FPS. In Crysis, it's dull aliens and a direct reversal of design logic. The wintry jungle is just a white hallway that we escort another nanosuited soldier through. Now and then, flying things land to attack with tentacles -- no huts to hide in (would aliens strip shingles from the roof to shoot inside?), no shattering cover, and no three-way mix-ups with wandering Koreans. The order to protect our partner, I suspect, is a tension-inducing device there to distract us from the unfinished framework of a big plan that fizzled but couldn't be cut.

I won't say "i told you so".

I'm sure Samon will say it for me.

(I'll still end up getting it anyway. Far Cry was a turd and i got that)

Gamespot Score 9.5
If you put it all together, Crysis is just remarkable. This is a game that pushes the envelope in terms of both technology and gameplay and does so with aplomb. Crysis raises the expectations for every shooter to follow when it comes to graphics, interactivity, environments, immersiveness, AI, and gameplay. Quite simply, Crysis represents the first-person shooter at its finest, most evolved form.

That's a great review for Crysis, no doubt. But i have never agreed with that reviewer on almost everything he's reviewed so i simply don't trust it.

Now if someone like Shawn Elliot from 1UP or Kristen Reed(?) from Eurogamer, or even Jeff Gerstmann from Gamespot reviewed and gave it that score i'd be more interested and eager to play Crysis.

(I can't believe i know those reviewers by name. I may as well wear a t-shirt that says "vagina repellant")

Ocampo is an idiot. Jeff Gerstmann FTW. I used to like Greg something until he sold his soul to the devil and awarded PD0 something like 9.9.

Yeah Perfect Dark 0 was a 9.0 from Gamespot. That game was ass.

Wait tell me more about these reviewers, people. Post some reviews they made that you liked, that really show why they are so good.

Also post the bad reviewers.

Thanks in advance.

Its not so much about quality of the reviews, its just similar tastes. I'm not gonna go through and hand pick reviews, but i did manage to track down two pages that listed their scores for some of the games they own, and i just have very similar tastes to them.

Kristen Reed: http://gamers.eurogamer.net/user_profile.php?user_id=858&tab=game-collection

Jeff G:

I can't find anything on Shawn Elliot though, but from his reviews that i've read and the video previews i've seen him do on gamevideos.com i usually agree with him as much as these other two.

dont believe the hype. Id give this game 7/8 out of 10. Graphics are what making this game + methods to kill the Koreans (i.e. nanosuits differnet powers). Bet the story is shit and voice acting is crap too (the demo proves it). Im not getting this game until A. Ive upgraded B. Completed Bioshock which i stopped playing coz it ran like crap C. Crysis is ?20 or less.

I have the same feeling about Assasins Creed, the gamplay videos dont inspir eme... its just loads of hype trying to generate sales. Oh and online reviewers getting extra ???$$$$ for giving good scored
