Does 'Half life' (1 or 2) contain any sexual violence?

I'm extremely sensitive to any kind of sexual violence, so I would like to know this before I play these games. I enjoy horror themes and violence in games immensely, but I can't stand any sexual violence.

Thank you. I know these games are not like that, but even the one terrible scene in the movie called Alien made me nearly throw up. You know, that scene suggested that a woman was raped by an alien.

Well the citadel is phalus shaped, its been said, so i would stop playing after nova prospekt for your own protection. I completely agree, any kind of sexual references/orientation/violence in games is awful. You should have seen the beta versions! Alyx's jacket cut off her BLACK MESA shirt, so you could only see -CK ME-, tad suggestive eh? Frankly i find it appauling. Go Jacko.

I don't think there are any games that have any of that sort of stuff in them.

Video game critics would have a field day with any popular games featuring violence aganist either women or children. Hence you won't find such things in any mainstream FPS today.

Those japanese hentai movies/games...

Japanese games are not always assured to have a massive following outside of Asia unless they're meant for foreign markets as well. Thus no one will make a big deal out of those hentai games.

Well... the important thing is that there are no even hints of sexual violence. (?)

There are no obvious hints of sexual violence in the HL games.

Not a trace of it. The violence in the game is somewhat indiscriminate of gender (men and women get shot at basically, though I'd definitely say that there are probably more male characters in the game getting shot at), but there is not an ounce of sexuality in the game as a whole, let alone the violence in the game. Hell, there aren't even Women in Half-Life 1 (with one minor exception), and the entire human race has effectively been neutered for Half-Life 2!

Edit: as a general guideline, I think you'd almost certainly find that a game with sexual violence in it would either be banned or given the highest possible rating by each region's respective ratings board. Half-Life 2 only warrants a very low 15 certificate in the UK, though it's a 16 in Europe and a 17+ in the US afaik. There are still ratings above that in all territories though (18s in UK / Europe, Mature in the US?).

Uhhhh... what scene? I can't think of what you might be talking about, and anything along those lines in Alien would only be symbolic, as there is no sexuality from the alien in the film. So, overeacting much?

Wait, what Alien film were YOU watching? The first one, Ripley is admittedly ambushed by the alien while in her underclothes, but that's about it.

lol at the SUGGESTION of rape makes this person throw up... omg grow up.

Stop being an immature prick, I think it's time for you to grow up. Oh, and that Alien scene is when Lambert is supposedly killed off-screen.

Meh said:
It is supposed that she was either slain and eaten or captured and cocooned, as Dallas and Brett had been; another theory (supported by the DVD-commentary) says she was actually raped by the Alien, regarding the Alien's way of approaching her, it's general depiction as a very sexual being and Lambert's distinctive screams heard via intercom.

Made me shudder too. Anyway, there is no "sexual violence" in the game, sexual references perhaps...but no violence.

....riiiiiggghhhttt. Why would a game have sexual violence? Its a game for christ sake. The games got high res, high polygonal chicks in them, might give you an erection if you are lonely but thats about it.

Btw, i never saw someone get raped by an Alien in any alien movie...wtf u talking about? Just because a woman is fighting an alien doesnt mean she is getting raped...if a guy fights an alien..OHH THEN its ok, but if its a women, THEN its rape...

i just cant understand some guys...just cant

I don't mean to pry, but is there a reason for your particular aversion to sexual violence? Of course say nothing if you don't wish to answer that personal question.

@Poster of this thread

Don't worry, this is nothing "sexual" in the Half-Life series. The worst thing about this game is the attempted "Gross-out" factor, which features many monsters in the first game that might give you the heebie-jeebies if you're not careful when they come at you.

The most "sexual/attraction" if it really can be called such at all in the Half Life saga is just the seeming attraction of Alyx to Gordon (Who are about 2 years apart at most), which really doesn't go anything past Alyx just being a very, [o]very[/i] small bit flirting-like, and her apprarent reactions when you go off to do something that she can't do with you. So trust me, if you can stomach what Disney puts it out for romance, you can easily take Half Life and such. =D

lol at the SUGGESTION of rape makes this person throw up... omg grow up.

Rape is a very sreious issue, and although this is not the place for discussion about it, telling people to "grow up" about rape is one of the most idiotic things to do. Please, have some consideration that some people are actually sensitive to such horrific issues.

Wait, what?

No, he's right. That was one of the first things I noticed after meeting Alyx. Obviously it now says Black Mesa but when I first saw it I saw the -CK ME- and did a double take.

Sexual violence? You will slowly start to enjoy it.

By the way, you can peep Alyx underpants in HL2.

Take a screenshot and it will be classic

Nothing of the sort in half life series. I do not recall any sexual violance in any video games for consoles.

Stay away from japanese hentai though! And by all means never type the word "guro" in a search engine. That stuff almost makes me barf.

seriously, don't type that or you will regret it! Not a joke.

I can see nothing, no hentai. :O

I hate it when people don't mind blood and bullets and killing...but when it comes to more open things its... "OMFG U CAN'T SHOW THAT!!".....ok if you can see blood, death, and shoot people...you can see some boobs.

You know if people wouldn't make such a big deal over it kids really wouldn't give a shit if theres a boob in a game cuz there'd be on in every game. If anything it would help younger kids be more mature by having such a thing in there daily life. Im sorry but if your old enough to have fun killing something your old enough to see a boob.

There is mild sexual references in Episode 1 but no sexual violence.

I know an example of sexual violence in video games. I believe there was an Atari game called "Custer's Revenge" where you played as General Custer (wow), and the goal of the game was to dodge arrows as you made your way to an Indian woman tied to a cactus so you could rape her.

..... *erm*

Yep, the closest thing to sexual violence in Half-Life is Alyx's flirtiness.

Don't go to the Garry's Mod forums.

One of them. It was ET, on the list I was reading a while ago.

Well, there is no sexual voilence, but there are other gross/disgusting things
- ravenholm
- zombies. We'll, it's not that bad .. until they start burning and screaming in agony.
- burned bodies laying around .. dead bodies with all skin taken off .. etc.
- stalkers ..
- lots of gore

Absolutely no sexual violence in HL1 or HL2. HL2 has some very slight sexual references, but nothing of the violent sort. Basically, the only sexual reference is also Alyx behaving in a somewhat flirty way, but there's nothing even remotely sexually violent, and there's nothing even close to nudity in the games. In fact, the most nudity you see in HL games is a strip of Alyx's belly. As far as HL1 goes, I don't think that one even had any female characters, let alone sexual references.

no, but at the end of the day its all fiction, its not like its real ppl bein naked( if there was any nudity in the game)

on the contrary, there is one instance of sexual violence in Silent Hill 2; you know, with the table monster that is shaped like a man raping a girl.
