I'm gonna be in Dublin for St. Patty's day and I was wondering if any of you are versed in the ways of the Irish (as in I'm looking for something fun to do.) Also I was thinking of Skiing in Switzerland while I'm there, but plane tickets are too expensive. So what's fun to do in Ireland and where can I get a cheap ticket to Switzerland?

I don't know of many places you can ski in Ireland apart from artificial slopes, but if you're into water sports then there'll be plenty. The west coast gets great waves if you're into surfing, and wind if you like windsurfing.
Apart from that see the sights, get drunk, explore, go hiking.

Depends what you're into really.

Oh if you want to ski you can try Scotland, though I'm not sure what it's like in March it's feasible at some times of the year and it'd be cheaper to get to from Dublin than Switzerland would be.

Fun things to do in Dublin on Paddy's Day?
:D

It ain't what it used to be and it used to be incredibly awesome about 10 years ago when the Green was open and the drinking didn't turn dangerous - these days it's the only day of the year where I do not feel safe in the city in spite of being my 6 ft, 20 something years self. Stay out of the capital on the day and go to a rural town instead for a bit of fun - Dublin is great, just not on Paddy's day

Editted for added comprehending powers!
I'll be traveling with my sisters husband (he's former SAS). Oh and do Irish despise Americans as most of the world seems to?

No, Dublin will be full of Yanks on Paddy's day too btw so you won't feel alone. Obligatory trip to the Guinness Factory for you!

cheap tickets to switzerland? try STA travel. BTW France is cheaper than Switzerland for skiing, but its a different experience.

The Brit ex-army brother in law probably has a higher chance of prejudiced reactions actually.
