Samon said:Sexy. Still, 1st of June? Thats only one day away from May 31st, so its no big deal
That plot outline is truly superb.
Samon said:Well, it makes sense. With the Citadel damaged beyond repair, the Combine have very little room to maneuver. Putting the Citadel into self destruct will destroy whatever is left of the resistance, and hopefully Gordon.
Box art looks awesome too.

Half-Life 2: Episode One Site said:In addition to the new single player campaign, Half-Life 2: Episode One also includes two multiplayer games.
Solver said:Very interesting. Notice, that site mentions explicitly for the first time how much time passed between HL1 and HL2 - "nearly two decades". So the estimates of 10-12 years were wrong, and 17-19 years would be correct then. Which would, BTW, put Alyx at an age of 22-25.
Also, G-Man *did* try to put Alyx into stasis or do something. "Gordon and Alyx discover they've somehow escaped both the reactor explosion and the G-Man's malevolent grasp."
EDIT: though not it's "four to fix hours". The original quotes mentioned something along the lines of seven hours. Seven is fine for an episode, but four would be disappointing. I mean, if it's four, then by the time you get really drawn in, it would be almost over.
EDIT2: $19.95???? What's that about? Weren't Valve promising some very cheap price of like 9 USD?
From what we can see and from what VALVe has told us, it seems like episodic content is supposed to be much more dense, better action, and better paced than Half Life 2. It's like taking taking the best parts of an 18 hour game and compressing all that action into 6 hours.Solver said:I do remember the actual number of a 7 hour estimate somewhere, but it was a fair amount of time ago.
Then again, if it stays true that AM is 1/3 as long as HL2, then no way it would be 4 to 6 hours for me. I took almost 24 hours on my first run through HL2, I think. So one third of HL2's length would certainly be 7 hours for me, if not more. And 4 hours sounds like a very low number, still - I don't think many people did HL2 in 12 hours. Times of 17 hours up were the most common, IIRC.
And Aftermath will almost certainly be good enough to play through it another couple of times. Ultimately, it's the quality that matters, not the quantity. If it's 6 hours of content that's equal to HL2 in quality, it's still awesome.

The only change is, that it says you can pre-purchase it now, sadly you can't![]()
Or maybe episode 2 will consist of you fighting alongside the G-Man. 'Goddamnit! Yes, your tie is FINE! Now could you please actually shoot something!?'Solver said:And gosh I love the G-Man. Heck, I'd probably be happy if half of Aftermath consisted of G-Man action... like him grabbing Alyx and running and you following him all over C17 and surroundings.
No...I don't think so. That doesn't seem too bad of a price to me.Solver said:EDIT2: $19.95???? What's that about? Weren't Valve promising some very cheap price of like 9 USD?
Definitely. And it's even more of a deal for me because it's $19.99USD, but in Canada, we only have to pay $19.99CAN!xombine said:No...I don't think so. That doesn't seem too bad of a price to me.
$20 is about €16. I'm cheap and I don't want to have to pay the extra €4!rambler said:still not as much as £20. anyway, aren't the euro and the usd similar value wise?
