Failed to set video mode - resetting to defaults

Hello all

I get this error message whenever I try to start any game on Steam after setting the proper refresh rates for my monitor using RefreshForce.

The only way I can play is if I revert to 60Hz. Does anyone know how to get it working with a higher refresh rate?

The game assumes that every single resolution is capable of that rate. If not, that error will pop up.

If I were to use RefreshForce, which I do, it'll set my normal in-game resolution (1280 x 960) at 100 Hz. When I would start up HL2, it'll think that any resolution that I specify is capable of a 100 Hz refresh rate. Now, if I were to switch to 1600 x 1200, (which I can only go up to 85 Hz,) I'll get that error.

You can add new modes in RefreshForce so you can circumvent this problem.
