ok im just wandering if theres something up with my system when im playing cs.

when running the video stress test (which is meant to push the limits of source right?) i get an average fps of ~50. but when playing CS, my fps float around 20-30.

specs:
2400+ amd
radeon 9600xt 256 meg (4.8 catalysts)
768 ram

am i the only one sufferent cs lagging like this while the stress test runs fine?

Your comp is processing so many other things when you play CSS, so framerates tend to be lower:(

but your getting lower then average fps, given your comp speed

awww nuts.

i was thinking it may be my processor bottlenecking the gpu or something, but im not sure coz 2400 should be enough (recommended specs).

i hope this is just a beta issue. if HL2 runs as iffy as cs:s then i may implode

Hey,

I wouldn't sweat it too much. I do think your scores are a little low for the HL2 bench and source bench though.

Upgrade to the Omega Cat 4.8's or just the ati 4.8's if you aren't already.

I'm running 56 Fps on the stress test and about 20-45 in cs:source. I have a 9500pro overclocked and 2000xp with 512 ram.

Source is the beta and HL2 is optimized. You will be able to run HL2 just fine. Don't sweat it.

NM about the cat 4.8's. I just re-read and saw you had them. When was your last format?

would this be considered as a reportable bug?
