GAHHH need help with half life 2

hey guys, i learned that this is a fantastic foroum and i need help. i have been playing half life 2 for a while, and i have gotten to highway 17 place. i go down to where the poision zombie is, and i shoot him and the game crashes. i have a pretty bad computer. also, if i shoot a gas thing till it blows up, it crashes. i tried just not killing the zombie, but if i kill anything else it crashes. I NEED TO PLAY THIS GAME

Try this. Open Steam, right click on Half-Life 2 and click properties. Click the local files tab and then "Verify Integrity of Game Cache."

Is this a laptop?

lower the video settings (take off the reflective water feature first... it takes up power and you hardly notice it while playing)

The T5500 is a mobile CPU, so yes, he's using a laptop. Which means the GPU is likely an Intel GMA.... crap for games.

Like lord_raken suggested, lowering your graphics settings might help.
