Garrys Mod / Half life 2 Third Person Bug

Hi,

I have been struggling with this bug for a while and what ever i try seems to fail.

Whenever i activate cheats and use the "thirdperson" code in the console in either HL2 or Garrys Mod 10 third person mode does happen butr the camera is in the wrong place.

It is like the camera is constantly stuck to the right of the player instead of behind them as it is supposed to work.,

So you can see exactly what i mean i have posted it on youtube.

Please somebody help me with this as its driving me insane!

I am trying to make a movie from a third person perspective using Garrysmod and this bug keeps occuring.

Its your lucky day! I don't think Valve really intended in putting the camera in the correct place for thirdperson, since you really wouldnt go into it.
Anyway, if you want it in the normal place, put this in your console:
cam_idealyaw 3

Ok next question:

How can I lift the camera up so I can see the weapon the character is holding? At the moment the player model blocks the view of the weapon. Give me a console command for that and I'll be really impressed.

You want the camera to be turned around so its partly behind you, and partly looking at your gun?
Try things like:
cam_idealyaw 10

Keep going higher if you want more view.
Keep going lower if you want less view.

Hopefully you will understand. I may now install gmod.

By the way, that signature ("I am always correct.") is just there to spoof someone else's signature. Most people know who that guy is ^_^

I Didn't even know you could use 3rd person in HL2. . . that's kind of cool. . .

If you tried to in Half Life 2, you would appear as a black figure. In Garry's Mod, you appear as whoever you have chosen in the options menu.

Yup thirdperson works great now! Thanks for your help.

Im still itching to try it out on CS:S though. But i need a server where sv_cheats is active. Maybe i'll try it on LAN later. Anyhow thanks!

Has there been a release date for Left 4 Dead yet? That game looks so awesome it makes me want to cry.

I tried it on CS:S yesterday. Not as good as it is on Gmod.
