what kind of gas mileage do you guys get?

I drive a 2000 golf gls, i drive like a maniac, rev really high all the time before changing gears and i get about 7.6L/100km that's about 30-32 mpg. If i drove normally, I believe I could get around 35-40mpg. I can only imagine how amazing golf/jettas are that run on diesel.

100% city driving + 9k RPM shifts at least once every time I drive = 17 MPG on average. Car is much too much fun to shift at anything else D:

lol damn you. I usually shift 3500-4000 between gears. For how I drive I was really impressed with my gas mileage.

I'm extremely pleased with my milage. A lot of people doing less hard driving than me gets much less....plus, my RX-7, which was untuned, gave me 12ish mpg. :(

Stock, my car was about 26 MPG

1995 Mitsubishi GS-T (modified with extreme weight reduction) (5 speed)

~39 MPG if driven very economically
~28 MPG if driven very hard

What did you remove everything but a seat and the engine? Because those things are still damn heavy. John Shep's talon is stripped almost fully and it still weighs 2600+lbs.

~25-30 mpg (That's a guess really). Ford Fiesta.

Official EPA MPG: 26/34
Actual MPG: 27/32

2007 Mazda Mazda3 S Sport

basically. I'd go into detail but I don't want to hear criticism.

Yeah, they are heavy cars. Mine is stripped almost fully. It makes it like an enclosed pick up truck for hauling things

I still have the dashboard and the metalwork has not been removed very much though. No A/C, no Power steering, so much removed I can't even say. I've got huge bins full of parts. I haven't removed the airbags, but I've been considering it for years.

I was going to get Plexiglas for the rear window but it's not legal here.

between 24 and 30mpg, 2002 volvo s40

I don't really know, always fill up my tank at different times. What with having a dodgy fuel indicator which can never decide whether it is half-full or a bit more or less I can't keep a track of how much fuel I am using.

Anyway on ?20 of petrol which is about 16 litres at the mo I will do close on 180 miles before filling up. When I fill up the tank is not empty.

Don't have a rev'o'meter so don't know what rev's I change at, I just listen to the engine.

Good old 1995 106 1.1 litre :D

my S6 gets 25mpg highway, and about 20mpg mixed. It could be higher, but I love boost.

The method I used to find out my gas mileage is very simple.

1) Wait until the low fuel light indicator is on.

2) Fill it up. Read the pump for how many gallons it required to fill it up.

3) set the trip meter. (Push the button to set the miles to 0.)

or write down the mileage, you can do the math using the difference

4) drive the car until the fuel light comes back on.

miles driven on the trip meter divided by the amount of gallons it took to fill up your tank equals your average fuel economy.

so if you went 600 miles on 20 gallons of gas your average fuel economy would be 30 MPG. [600 divided by 20 = 30]

[miles driven / gallons of fuel = average MPG]

this will also tell you how many miles you can go on a tank full of gas. In this case it was 600.

My brother drives a Hybrid Honda, and I can't remember exactly, but I think he said he gets like 60 MPG or more. For one, the engine does not idle.

I'm in the process of figuring this out, just waiting for my tank to empty. Something in the 20's though.

I haven't the vaguest idea... haven't bothered to do the math yet. A lady came into work and was telling me about her drive up here from the city (~100 miles) in a Toyota Prius. She got I think around 30 miles per gallon on the way up, but got 99 miles per gallon on the way down (and had the battery fully charged during the return trip).
