If you had actually read my first post you'd known that I said he was playing the Xbox version on Windows. :O
 
That was awesome! But what's that strange burning we see after 1:22? Maybe that's where the pod crash-landed?

I noticed the new patch! It seems like the Elite symbol, but it's orange.

Maybe they're from another City? Or just field-promoted?
 
It's the Skullbreaker's reincarnation. Just with different armor colors.
 
new blood effects stink. Im hoping it will either be fixed or taken out. The rest looks good
 
I must say that those blood effects are a big step backwards. They should have included a dusty cloth demolishing something, but that blood... Looked like 1990.
 
Blood was awful alright, sweet trailer though, can't wait, dunno what to get it on though, ep 1 and hl2 ran great, no probs but with all the extra stuff in ep2 i dunno if i should get it on my 360, i dont have live either so no online TF2 etc on 360 :/

i didnt realise the advisor was so small :| thought it would be bigger.

Why are you guys so worried about System specs? If you can run HL2 and Ep1 fine you should be able to run Ep2. It won't be that big of a step forward in graphics.

The hints are in the Particle Benchmark, and hints happened with certain weapons in HL2 and Episode 1 after first inquiring them.

They seem to come in different sizes. The ones in the Citadel were much bigged, about as big a a rhinoceros (and shaped like one too). I think this one's small because its a baby, and lost its parents.

its just a smaller sized one i think..

btw, all they have to do is make the blood darker and drop the size of the particles in the particle system
 
Sorry, but I don't find it amazing that we get a watermelon-sized blood splatter for every shotgun pellet that hits the enemy. Nor do I find it amazing that blood splatters out of their chest when they got shot in the face.
 
Exactly, and for a game as close-cutting as Half Life when it comes to making an immersive experience, making these bucket loads of blood appear then be nowhere to found on the floor or walls - or anywhere - is just backwards if you ask me. Not sure what they were thinking on that one.

I'm quite certain the Advisor seen on screen talking to Breen in HL2 is not among the advisors that escapes the critical Citadel in Episode 1, remember these slugs are numerous it's not just the one pod that escapes the Citadel it's many, by the looks of it I'd say the advisor seen in this clips is just one of many that's crashed around the country part.

I'm certain we'll come across many of these pods with combine slugs in them or in close proximity with their hovering devices.

Cruor is right. In the high-res version at IGN he drives past a crashed pod, which would be why the Advisor is on life-support.
 
I just noticed how that barrel completely bent over. So cool.
 
Sweet video man. Awesome. I didn't think the cinematic physics were that good. Just got back from me holidays, so I was hoping for a good fair deal of new EP2 media goodness :( It's great to see this video, but I was kind of hoping for more. Is the Leipzig Games Convention over yet or....? Has VALVe got a schedule for showcasing the Orange Box or what?

Oh sh*t sorry I know what you mean now. Christ, I feel like a dick. I was actually trying to say that the cinematic physics caught me by surprise, because they were so damn good. If you know what I mean :P
 
So Gabe has a level 70 undead warlock... no wonder there were so many delays.

Oh and the blood was cool, they just need to bring it down a notch, make it a little darker/more transparent with a big blood puddle appear after the blood shoots out and it'll be sweet.
 
Maybe they just did it for the press? Look at the E3 demos, nothing like the actual game.

Are you talking about the AI? Well, if you are, I have to say that I kind of agree with you. It looks like the Soldier AI hasn't been improved :'( VALVe could prove me wrong though. But that looks unlikely because we are so close to the release date...
 
Uh-oh, kinda bad news. Just finished reading the new Steam Update News. It sounds like they're not showing any new footage at Leipzig :( It also mentions they're adding the finishing touches to EP2. I hope that includes changing the blood effect :( But on the other hand, this is confirmation that no more delays will be announced for EP2.
