I need some new hobbies. What do you people do for fun eh?

No need to list masturbating people, that is a given.

I could list tons of hobbies I have like video games, music, and movies,...

instead I will list a few that are perhaps uncommon.

fighting
weight-training
inventing stuff
making video game mods
art
sound effects editing
creating music
building stuff
my pet iguana
tropical and marine aquariums
working on my car
filming
writing
photography

A long time ago, I used to collect things, like baseball cards, but now I pretty much just collect media.

Anyway, hobbies are a great way to stay happy and occupy free time. I want some more.

Got any interesting hobbies?

Airsoft
Electronics (haven't been as interested in it lately tbh)
Motorbikes (not a slab slut)
Drumming

That's about it these days. My bike is expensive enough to keep me from straying to other extraneous and short lived hobbies.

I love to write though, but don't really pursue it as a hobby. I can never get any good ideas :(

Making music
Making videos (video game or real life comedy)
Photography
Snowmobiling
Building computers

1. Driving
2. Flying
3. Gaming
4. Cooking (I'm not gay)
5. Shopping online ( ... no, really ... i'm not)

I write scripts for movie ideas I have. I'd probably end up with a Jackass or Monty Python type movie though. Comedy.. or a short animal film.

I also write lyrics.

You already listed my favorite ones (writing scripts and making music).

I also want to learn to do some 3d modeling, but I can't be bothered at the moment.

I do a lot of reading. (Besides HL2.net)

Writing (this is not so much a hobby as an obsession)
Horse riding
Acting
Reading
I play instruments, or sing (when nobody is around)
Games obviously
Pet rats
Art of sorts

Miniature wargames (use the no limits rules)
Miniature painting
I.33 fencing (fun shit)
Longsword fencing (also fun)
Study (as in, amassing knowledge on something just to amuse yourself, like with me and history)

Become a needlessly pedantic bastard like your local Cheo.

Warhammer. Play it, make stuff for it, get immersed. Fantasy is better than 40K.

Get some singing lessons. The number of people who can actually sing is a pitifully small number. Perform once you're good.

making music can be fun, if you have the determination and patience. I don't have those qualities, so i just gave up because I couldn't come up with anything that didn't sound horrible.

HL2.net - I spend way too much time on here for it to NOT be a hobby
Writing music
Eating cookies - also a hobby of mine. I could plow through a box a day and not go a pound over 145, it's great.
Gaming
Masturbating

I really need more hobbies.

It USED to be better. Now they're both rubbish.

They raped my Empire :<

my main hobby is sticking it to the man. On an average week I would have stuck it to the man about 14 times. Stickin it to the man isnt easy, it requires alot of skill and dedication.

You might as well give up on everything else with that attitude.

~_~

No really, I also quit trying to make music about 6 months ago.

On September I began again, with renewed determination (and patience ;)) and a bit of help from the internets. You wouldn't believe how much fun I'm having - and my music doesn't sound like shit anymore.

If you want, I could help you get back on track, and try again. (pm)

if at first you don't succeed, try again.

;)

If at first you don't succeed, you're doing it wrong.

I also enjoy sticking it to the man, hot cocoa and long walks on the beach...hey wait a minute, wrong window damnit. :o

Erm, anyways...

Motorcycling and women bring me the most pleasure. I also like reading, gaming, badminton, squash, airsoft and if I had the money, I'd be so into skydiving and flying. Flying was my first love really, motorbikes are about the closest you can get to piloting a stunt plane without being a rich dude named Jeeves. And the people are cooler. Ain't no people like bikers.

but there's always a second chance. there is a second chance right?

Slab slut.

I play wicked air guitar and dance around wildly. But only when no one is watching.
I also play the saxophone, ski and snowboard, bike, paint warhammer fantasy (not so much into the gaming), research everything I ever think of and sit around pondering ponderous thoughts.

Hobbies...

HL2.net knows I write. I'm almost constantly writing; usually stories, but sometimes other things. Earlier today I was writing (completing) the lyrics to a freestyle I started last night.

I like to sing. I sing a lot.

Drawing would be a hobby if I could motivate myself more often.

Right on brother.

Wait a minute... Darksied - You rap?

Bust out some beats then, mofo.

*starts beat-boxing* boo choo-coo-boo choo-coo-boo chika bang

The hell is a slab slut?

I punched that into google and the third highest result is a post by you. :p

Slab slut.

Sluts that won't get off of the slab.

IE street riders.

Multiple reasons to call them slab sluts, the most obvious being that tarmac is rather "slabish" and flat, second most obvious being a vague reference to the fact that they put your body on a big metal slab once you're checked into the morgue.

Take your pick :cheese:

Oh right, I thought that was a bizarre reference to my promiscuity. Guilty as charged, either way. :p

Anyways, why wouldn't you want to ride on tarmac? It's smooth and graceful, and you can spend more time thinking about the ride than the surface.
Besides...motocross seems to offer the constant threat of serious injury. To me it looks infinitely more dangerous than road riding - hell, my mechanic reckons that MX boots are so bulky and restrictive that they would protect my broken leg in a crsh. Gotta be a reason for that, eh?

Wish I had more hobbies... some of this stuff sounds cool and fun, but I just can't find the motivation to really get into anything.

@repiV - Motocross is more extreme than anything - Period

Other then eating nails for breakfast, of course.

****, for a split second I thought those nails were like gross millipede and centipede bugs or something.

*shivers*

Of course I rap Dog--; I thought you knew.
You could've searched for yourself but I did the work for you.

The great freestyle rap thread of 2007
Untouchable.

Drawing takes up a lot of my free time, usually drawing freaky and bizarre creatures, even Half-Life comic sketches. Learning guitar now, haven't learned a damn thing yet. I make "music" out of random things lying around, beating them in sequence like a freestyle drum session.

Oh, no doubt. I just see those guys performing gravity-defying leaps all over the course and think, you'd only have to screw that up ONCE and you'd likely break something or worse. Talk about hitting the earth like a ragdoll. And man, is the margin for error there tiny.
Not to mention how easy it must be to lose the rear in a corner.

I'd rather eat nails than ****ing centipedes.

I personally hate motocross :P

Trail riding is where it's at brutha! Nothing like becoming one with your mind, body, bike, and the earth itself, as you crest an enormous hillclimb, rocket out of the rut, and watch as the horizon, strewn with buildings, quickly darts into view.

And losing the rear in the corners is half of the fun. Ever wonder why they stick their inside leg out when they slide into the corner? It's to slam back down on sweet mother earth the second your bike starts to even think about making love to her soft and musty lips, and you better bet that your bike will do that 2 or 3 times per corner.

If it doesn't, you're not hitting the corner fast enough!

Yeah well I never used to consider a small slide a big deal.

Picture the scene: 21st October. A bright, sunny, yet cold autumn day. I'm going up and down my favourite road trying to get my knee down on my favourite bends. After a few "laps", I chuck it over into the corner at 60 and the knee misses, but the rear slides around and the footpeg digs in instead - then it regrips. I think nothing of it and try again.
Next go round, I'm approaching the same corner, holding it steady at 60mph, reach my turn in point and slam the bars in the right direction...
Bike starts to track around the bend when the rear slides again. Only, this time, it doesn't regrip and both myself and the machine get catapulted violently into the scenery.

I'm fortunate to be here at all to tell you this boring story. Slides ain't cool.
