How to launch mods? (HL1)

:bounce: Allo.

So, i downloaded some pretty fun looking mods, and there are no launch shortcut.

All a bunch of wads and game file.

How do I launch the mods to play them?

I have the non-steam version of Half Life, and the steam, but I haven't created a steam account because when i downloaded the steam client whenever I launch steam it fails to update, gives me an error, and closes.

no way of launching

Error: Could not connect to steam network.

They should ho in steamapps\<user>\half-life\ or C:\SIERRA\Half-Life\ and you launch with a shortcut to hl.exe with the -game <moddir> launch parameter.

Here's how I have it:
(every folder execpt the "valve" folder is a mod) Click "Show" to see the image, it's pretty big :stare:

After you install the mod, restart steam and it should show up on the "Games" list.
