Yup, my nerd rating went up +2. Even though they aren't really nerdy glasses. They're expensive, actually, Bvlgari. I can see! Hooray!
Anyone else have glasses? :D

Yes.

I complain about them a lot, but deep down I shamefully really like how I look in them.

:D

Do you have an Astigmatism?
D:

I wore glasses when i was in third grade. but I lost em and my eyes fixed themselves! :D

I don't have glasses.

But it levels out cause, i have bad hearing :(

Part of me wishes I needed glasses for some reason, even though I'd look horrible in them. My fashion sense is out to kill me, I'll prove it yet!

What's your degree Atomic? I just got mine 5 days ago. I belong in the 100 degree category

Yes.
Ziod or something around SG 400.
Degree 720 left and right

yay! I've been accepted by a minority!

Why you little >:0

I rofl'd more than you can believe. :D!

Also, I wish I needed glasses. I think I look really good in glasses with my curly hair. I need to find a place that sells pretty damned good frames with just plain lenses in there. I want glasses. :(

Someone help me join the glasses club!

Damn son, how much did those set you back?

I know brand name glasses frames aren't too expensive compared to some of the accessories they make, but still...

edit: Pics or didn't happen

Don't have my cameras with me.. and it was on my grandpa's credit card. They cost about $280, not counting lenses.
They match my hair!

I have glasses and yes they are expensive. That's why I've had the same pair for 4+ years.

And I just got it once I read this line in your post. ROFL

I'm slow today.

I have glasses. I don't mind them, but I don't like that I have to rely on them to see well.

My dad sees better than I do with his glasses on and my glasses on. I think I need to get a new prescription.

I have had glasses since I was about 9. I am incredibly short-sighted and can't see anything thats more than 30cms away from me (probably because I hardly ever take my glasses off, therefore never giving my eyes a chance to adapt without glasses (if that makes any sense!)). I used to have very rounded and brightly coloured frames, but now i have gold oval/rectangular shaped frames which look (needless to say, but I'll say it anyway) much, much cooler. They slim my face down as well, which is very good.

My glasses are awesome. I actually like having glasses.

EDIT: I just cleaned them properly for the first time in days. Didn't realise how dirty they were, and now I feel exctly like I did when I first got 'em!

I do. You guys make me want to keep them instead of contacts. :[O

I've been in glasses since fifth grad. I always used to wonder why people put signs on the side of the road, since nobody can read them anyway. Looking back, the answer was pretty obvious.

I bought glasses earlier this year (rather expensive ones with really awesome black frames) because contacts drove me up the wall. I don't wear them that much though.

I can not pull off those blak frames. I look f***ing ridiculous in them. When I went round to stay at mate's sister's place one time I tried on these fake blak-framed glasses she's got and my mate nearly pissed herself laughing. It's a bit of a shame that I can't wear them actually as it would probably go with my black rock look very well. Alas, that is not the case.

Contacts scare the shit outta me. I'd probably stab my eye out :(

Contacts are better in general compared to glasses.

How much depends on the frame you currently use. Mine are just black frames around the glass except for the bottom which is empty and dark red on the sides. They were a cheap pair and I rarely wear them outside of home.

I've worn glasses since I was 12. I can't see a damn thing without them.

They look cool, but they're a pain in the arse, what with the cleaning and the glare and everything. Whenever it rains, they're supremely annoying. And when I go fast on my bike, they get rammed right into my face so the lenses are practically sticking to my eyes. And they fog up like crazy in bad weather. And the thin frames severely restrict useful vision.

Laser surgery FTW. 350 quid per eye, definitely on this year's shopping list.

I'm glad I can at least see up close.. I bet I got this bad vision from playing games too much.

There seem to be a lot of theories floating around about the causes of short-sightedness, but few of them actually proven. In my case it's probably genetic, my mum has a -9 prescription. Legally blind without glasses. Something I have noticed however is that whenever I get new glasses, my eyesight deteriorates afterwards. And I'm 23 this year so my eyesight should really be stable by now.
Never been a better time to have vision problems though, you go to the laser clinic and they give you eyesight that's better than perfect. Just think, a few hundred years ago, short-sightedness would ruin your life.

It's genetic. That 'too much video games/tv' crap is a lie, it only stresses your eyes to hell if done for long, at most.

I'm short-sighted. And they never said it was from computers... I just assumed it myself. I'm on the computer or playing mah 360/wii at any time possible. If not that, then I'm painting models... or reading.
