Idea for a game

I was thinking of an idea for a game where you play as the body trying to fight off various viral infections. It would be a turn-based RTS where the cell is the production factory for the body, and there would be things like phagocytes and lympocytes that would reinforce you when the time came. There would be thousands of units on the field I.E. Rome Total War, but the graphics would have a transparent look to them. So what you guys think? (add ideas if you wish)

lol man, like a few weeks (maybe longer) I had an idea like this, only it was for a mod for like BF2. Man, that (either idea...though I prefer action fps's) would be so sweet.

An fps would be a good idea too. I don't really know if you could do it like bf2 though (what vehicles would you drive?); but I hope to see this idea or something similar take off one day.

Sorry, but you lost me at turn-based. D:

I had this idea several years ago. It would make a good experimental RTS type game.

Sounds like something that would be in Spore.

You could ride a Phagocyte and engulf the viruses! :D

hehe, you said phagocyte.

Keeding. I think it should be a FPS. It would be more cinematic.

There would have to be something unique about the gameplay, otherwise it's just another run-in-the-mill FPS but with a different theme.

I suggest you stick with RTS. You could pull off a really ****ing awesome mood with ambient sounds, hearing the gentle heartbeat in the background, and the graphical effects.

Lmao, I had this same idea. Except I wouldn't have made it turn based. I've seen another thread with this idea too. Seeing as so many people are coming up with this independently you could really have something that would be popular.

Aha! Found it! View THIS: http://intihuatani.usc.edu/cloud/flowing/ to see what I meant by amazing ambient feel. That flash game (it's quite fun btw) has some really great ambient sounds in it, and they change as you go deeper.
I sort of figured out how to play but I think I did something wrong - I defeated the biggest one that might have been the same kind as me and I turned into a virus, and now I play the role of a Virus - at least I think that is what happened.

And then I downloaded it for later.

Any idea WTF is going on? :P

You eat the food, and kill the other organisms, by nabbing at the glowey (iirc) part(s) of them, without letting them eat parts of you. When you eat all their special parts, they break up into crap which you eat and it adds to you. You must clear out all levels, and then you can pretty much say you are "done". The better you do, the bigger your snake will be when you're done, because less of you has been eaten by an enemy.

But that wasn't really the point of why I posted it, it was to show you what I meant by ambience.

I go by the theory that just about any kind of game idea could be a success as long as you make sure it's a welcomming game and stick to the basic rules of how you make it a good game.
I mean look at Katamari.

Hmm, I beat it when you play as that serpent-like thing. Then I beat it again with the jellyfish-like thing and I defeated the last thing, it just froze there. What's happened?

I took a snapshot.
