A day that shall forever live in infamy, thousands of troops from the North Korean People's Army, supported by 200+ tanks from the Soviet Union, literally rolled over most of the Republic of Korean light infantry regiments stationed at the 38th parellel.

The soldiers, many as young as 13, threw themselves underneath tank tracks to try to hold the advance. Their efforts were unfortunately in vain.

3 days later, the capital was gone.

Few more weeks later, the Northern Puppets took over 93% of the entire peninsula.

However, in the defence of democratic freedom, we pushed forth with all our might (and thousands of Middle school and High school students) and regained our land.

Unfortunately, 75% of the elementary school kids here think that the Korean War was fought in the middle ****ing ages. I blame the stupid education sytem.

According to polls, 30% of the 20s age group don't even know what year this was in.

Geez, what happened to NEVER FORGET NEVER FORGIVE?

More importantly, the witty host of "The planet's funniest animals" Matt Gallant, was born June 25th.

Which we know is far more important than patty wack in South Korea.

start beating off.

ok seriously why would someone threw itself under a tank in an attempt to stop it.
so i suspect they were ordered so by idiot higher ranks.
at least when i heard there would be tanks coming i hid and had rocks with me and i was 5 years old. so there is certainly something wrong for a 13 year old doing that.

It was kamikazie on the groubd, they had grenades with them and tried to blow the tracks off.

ok then, that is officially stupid. now i'm certain they didn't do this by themselves, they were ordered. i hope they were at least told to try and make a run for it, but not just go kamikaze ass on them.

personally i would never die for my country. i'd die for a number of different things but not for my country.

They were probably drugged with meth. The Japanese kamikazi pilots used it as well.

yes, never forget ....

wikipedia said:
South Korean military, police and paramilitary forces, often with U.S. military knowledge and without trial, executed in turn tens of thousands of alleged ?Communist sympathizers? during incidents like the Daejeon and Jeju Massacres; the bodies of these killed were often dumped into mass graves. Gregory Henderson, a U.S. diplomat in Korea at the time, put the figure at 100,000.[11]

For a time, American troops were under orders to consider any Korean civilians on the battlefield approaching their position as hostile and were instructed to ?neutralize? them due to fears of infiltration. This led to the indiscriminate killings of hundreds of South Korean civilians by the U.S. military at places such as No Gun Ri, where many defenseless refugees ? most of whom were women, children and old men ? were shot at by the U.S. Army and may have been strafed by the USAF. Recently, the U.S. admitted having a policy of strafing civilians in other places and times. South Koreans also blew up several bridges that were crowded with fleeing civilians when they could not clear the bridges before the enemy arrived.

better than being shot as a communist sympathizer ...this doesnt sound odd to you numbers? 13 year old soldiers? from your description there's no way they couldnt know the NK army was at their gates ..why would they man their borders with 13 years in the face of iniment danger? ..sounds like propaganda nonsense if you ask me

simply because they were student volunteers corps, and the light infantry regiments didnt even have heavy weapons. Besides, if they di know they were coming, dont you think its a bit odd that the north was able to capture most territories within a few months/
