Valve, developer of best selling games and leading edge technologies, today announced a Source Engine licensing partnership with Kuma Reality Games, creators of Kuma\War. Already in development, Kuma’s Source-based projects, including a comedic action title and the next generation of Kuma\War, are targeted for release on the PC later this year.

“Kuma has been tremendously successful over the last two years, but we’re ready to move to the next generation of video games,” said Keith Halper, CEO, Kuma Reality Games. “By using Source, we’ll be able to create realistic characters for our upcoming episodic television-like products.”

Hopefully they'll improve the quality of their games by using the engine :smoking:

Roger that - if I knew Valve was so hard up for cash, I would've sent 'em a check!

no kuma is/was indeed horrid. I played the first chapter and it full of bugs, ugly textures, weird AI, barren landscapes and just plain ol weird gameplay ..it was trying too hard to be like Operationflashpoint ..but without the talented developers

also the fact that they try to use "real" world firefights kinda makes the game uninteresting

I dont know ...I just didnt like their use of real world events ...especially since it was "rewritten" history

hmm... I just hope Valve positively impacts Kuma, rather than Kuma negatively impacting Valve.

Why would that happen? They are just licensing the engine , it's not like they are working side by side exchanging ideas.

Eventhough this company's record isn't good , that isn't a reason for Valve not to let the use Source. Heck , more money to Valve.

Didn't they have a mission where your John Kerry in Vietnam on a boat patrol?

Holy crap. I don't mind them using the source engine (= $$$ for valve), but they better not push this crap on steam.

Uh what if they do? It's not going to affect you anyways if you turn off messages via settings.
