I'd like to learn something as I can't play the game and am curious about it: Is the M29(Oicw) in the game, and if so, does it also shoot explosive rounds?

Also to avoid this thread being too short I'll also include my opinions about cons of the game (although bear in mind that I haven't played the game so basing my opinions on talkings & writings and estimating):

1-Short single player scenario
2-Instead of new HL2 related MP, CS:S (biggest con)
3-Team members getting in way in interiors
4-Noninteractive scripted scenes
5-Disappointing scenario

The magnum is in the game if that's what you mean, no explosive rounds.

You mean the XM29...the machine gun, yes it's there and it fires a grenade like explosive.

No, not the Magnum; the gun with green scope that Gordon uses in Bugbait video.

OICW was taken out of HL2 and replaced by the Pulse Rifle.

No OICW I'm afraid. And the incinerator gun is not an incinerating gun anymore :P. It's just a combine pulse rifle with a really weird and not much fun alt-fire.

1. I thought the game was of satisfying length. Definitely as long as the original; at least it felt like it.
2. This game is CRYING for dm.
3. Yea it sucks balls. Also happens with the antlions but not as bad.
4. Those move the story along, so if they were interactive you could break the game.
5. I loved the scenario! I thought I was going to miss the hl1 high-tech labs ambience, but thankfully I was wrong. It's very well done and since there is so much diversity you never get bored.

the oicw isnt in
but u get a energy rifle instead.
pretty much the same effect.

1) singleplayer is very immersive, but the game is much shorter then doom3
2) i dont like cs
3) they dont at all .. they make way in every direction ... its awsome how they seem to know just where u want to go
4) although there are many scripted sequences, u can move freely while the script takes place ... and most of the time, only a part of the action is scripted. i have a 80meg video rendered of a great sequence involving dog and some combine soldiers and a combine van ... its gorgeous to play the same sequence over and over just to look at it at different angles.
5) imho its not. the desing is very good and the scripts really add some sort of movie feeling.

I can't believe my eyes! How could they take it out! It was so cool and so powerful to boot; in fact it was one of the most important things in HL2 I was looking forward to!

By the way, does MP7 differ from MP5, at least a little, like damage power? As I know it has 4.62mm rifle-like rounds instead of MP5's 9mm pistol-like bullets. So there.

It definitely felt more powerful than hl's 'mp5', but that could be because it is a bit more accurate and thus headshots land more often. It sounds and feels great :). Overall I think it's an improvement. The shotgun is also very fun and much more accurate (tighter spread).

I've got some other questions if you don't mind as you HL2 fans are my only source of info as I can't afford a PC to play the game.So thank you all answering fans...

1-Can you push things with Manipulator in secondary mode? (things you haven't grabbed)
2-What's the maximum number of allies fighting with you at once?
3-Can you give orders to allies, and if so how?
4-Does MP7 feel more powerful than MP5 in non-zoom mode too?
5-What's it like firing IRifle in primary mode? (effect of impact)
6-What are those lots of other weapons? (hopwire, slam, iceaxe, extinguisher, manhack, stickylauncher, thumper, rollerwand, immolator, brickbat)
7-Is CS:S as advanced as HL2 in terms of technology? (graphics,physics,facial anim,water,shadows,etc)
8-Does crossbow's dart reach its target immediately when fired in non-zoom mode? (unlike in HL1)
9-Is Sniper Rifle any good?
10-Are airboat and buggy loose in control and do they have limited freedom due to narrow and more or less predefined paths?
11-Are driving physics good?

That's it for now. Thanks again.

1.) OH YEAH!
2.) Haven't got that far.
3.) Yes. Press "c" (I read that)
4.) Zoom mode? It's lots better than th MP5 from HL, If that's what you're asking.
5.) IRifle?
6.) None are weapons of yours, play to find out what they are.
7.) Not even close.
8.) No. You can see it travelling actually. It is affected by gravity too. If you're shooting at enemys far away you have to aim high. Also, if they're moving to either side you have to lead them.
9.) See crossbow.
10.) Whatever you want. It's REALLY fun.
11.) YES!!! Especially the boat. I've never had that much fun in a video game before. That level is great.

1. You push with the primary and grab things with secondary.
2. Dunno i think i have had 5 or 7 at the same time.
3. You cna roder them to stay, ormove to a position or follow you.
4. It feels kind of the same as the old MP5.
5. ???
6. Dunno all of them but they are pretty much the same that are in HL.
7. Same engine. But i think the physics are toned down to suit online play.
8. Havent tried.
9. If you mean crossbow by that..yes its good!
10. They are loose..
11. yes

1. Secondary holds an object, you could then use that object to push other things if you want.

2. 4 others, that makes 5 including yourself, medics are denoted by a + above their squad member icon.

3. Yes, aim and push C to tell your squad to go to that point, push C twice to have them follow.

4. Can't really say.

5. It's a fun weapon, one of my favorites =P

6. No Answer

7. It's the same except the physics, mainly concerning mobile objects. In CS:S you can not stand on items like barrels to prevent exploits but you can in HL2.

8. No it is not instant, it also has a trijectory (sp), meaning it's path falls as it goes.

9. Crossbow, yes it's good.

10. The Air Boat is a little more loose than the Buggy, but they are a blast to drive. There's really no need to worry about confined space, they give you plenty of room to go where you're supposed to.

11. For the most part they are, but the Air Boat is a little unruley sometimes.

what the hell happened to all the weapons anyway? BIGGEST dissapointment is theres like 6 weapons, and the irifle alternate fire is crap, it doesnt disintergrate them anymore

1. primary is push, secondary is attract. If you come across a corridor blocked by boxes and stuff you just press mouse1 and everything will be pushed away!
2. I think you can only have 4 following you + barney sometimes, but fighting in the same area, I think the max I saw was like 8.
3. you can tell them to follow you or to attack via a key bind. I never used it though. Medics will give you a medkit when you're down on health. Some guys will give you ammo in some situations.
4. the mp7 doesn't have any zoom. What you saw in the bink videos is the hevsuit's builtin zoom. But you can't fire your weapons when zoomed in, unlike in the videos.
5. as I said, the irifle isn't really an irifle anymore. It's a combine pulse rifle (very powerful, but innacurate; feels like a SAW, but only has a 30 round clip. Reloads very fast though. The alt-fire used to be a fire grenade but now it's a strange blob of energy that shoots out and kind of expands at impact, desintegrating enemies. It's very odd.
6. none of those are in the game. There were no surprise weapons.
7. css is like legos compared to hl2.
8. crossbow bolt follows a ballistic trajectory both zoomed in or otherwise. You can see it get stuck in walls and stuff (but you can't retrieve it).
9. there is no sniper rifle in the game :(.
10. airboat is heaps of fun and easy to control. buggy is very fast and hard to control (especially if you activate turbo omg). Both have huge wide open areas where you can drive around in circles to your heart's content.
11. not really. the airboat will never tip over, so in some situations it looks really odd to have the engine straighten the boat out in middair or after collisions. The buggy is more realistic. They're both very fun though.
