How could no one have noticed. A whole year and no one cared to check in on the guy. Sometimes children only visit their parents for like Christmas and thanksgiving, etc...
I'm sure if he does have kids they are pretty pissed at the other tenants.

Am I the only one who isn't all that disturbed by this? People die in more miserable ways, he had a wife that he cared about, didn't suffer. I guess I'm a little put off by the fact that he didn't have remaining family to discover that he passed, but I just can't find myself more than slightly disturbed.

Anyway, this is pretty sad. I remember when I was 11 we lived next door to this old guy, he was really nice and tended to his garden all the time because it was all he had left. He died too, cancer (I think). This just reminds of the nice old man who used to live nextdoor ;(

I am wondering if anyone would have heard the TV on, I mean in most houses you can hear it if you're close to the wall. I would have found it rather strange to hear it on all the time but never see him around. Then again the house might have been made of brick.
