You've all seen the usual lambdas with the A in the circle sprayed in yellow spray paint, but here is a different one. I have found 3 of them through the whole game, and I was pondering if anyone knew anything about them, or why they are different from the regular lambdas.

That is known as the Adrivaric Lambda symbol, in greek mythology it differs from that of the regular lambda, as it represents Methosis.

Methosis, was a Greek warrior, very brutal, and harsh. One day he was walking along a pond and noticed baby ducks waddling in the water. At first he wanted to destroy them, but their presence brought him a sense of peace and harmony. Soon Methosis became a peace leader within his community, and eventually became a god.

So it ultimately symbolizes someone great and powerful bringing about peace.

Hadn't noticed that one. Where did you spot it?

In Ravenholm, after you shut off that electric fence, you go into that room with the generator things, it was on one of the pillers in that room. There was also one in Black Messa, when you go down the elevator, you can see one on the wall in one of the rooms you pass.

Neat. Shoot the ducks in the ****ing beaks though.

The normal Lambda symbol indicates rebel supply caches.

I suppose Valve just didn't want the same spray for each cache.

Zombieturtle, your story actually HAd a point.
Maybe the "powerful" man is Gordon?

Cept he made it up, so natch.

It's just graffiti. You can see it a couple times in Anticitizen One and Follow Freeman, too.

I totally believed it too. I have seen the same symbols but never knew what they were either.

The Lambda is always near a weapon cache. when your on the Canals, and you knwo the red building G-MAN is standing in? It has a Lambda on it, get out of your air boat and go up to it, there is a supply carte in a basket. Figure out how to get it down. Also I think this place is the first time you encounter a headcrab in the game.

No, no it's not. There are many headcrabs in the map just prior to that, just before you get the airboat. There's also at least one zombie in an earlier map too.

Oh yes, I remember now. The Zombie (I believe it is a Torso) is in hidden area like the headcrab I mentioned.

Not to mention the headcrab shells that land near you, and Llamar.

That one like that by the car traps in Ravenholm tricked me! I thought I'd see a cache somewhere and I spent a long time looking for one, beating the hell out of that wooden wall it was on, thinking I could break thorough it, but I never found anything. :(

I'ts the same thing, some people just rush their tags that's all.

*goes around town painting lambdas and putting canned food around them*

That would have made an interesting advertisement campeign, spraying lambdas around a city or two...

Ooo...good idea.

Maybe Valve will start advertising they're HL games by spraying Lambda symbols everywhere and putting plastic toy guns under them?

Actually it's not a trick. I found out that you can get up on the car in the air and then jump over the wood fence, and there are some supplies back there. That took me a while to figure out.

That really dark room?

When i first went there, i was afraid of running into a fast zombie.:dozey:

 yaay, I'll have to try that. I'm on another playthrough anyway. :)
