need opinions on a track i'm working on (experimental idm/jungle)

I'm doing this track for a contest , and i'm curious what people think of it.

right now the bass, drums and main lead are boosted abit so the rest of the effects are rather low, i'm going to fix that. i'm going to alter the melody more after the first break, and program more crazy effects and shit throughout the whole track.

any comments are appreciated

I'm thinking some more hi-hat variation and some cymbals would be good to introduce further into the track. Would give it a more full and active sound in parts where you're clearly going for build-ups.

More variations of the bassline would also be good. It's good to let that run on for a while, but I think having it play constantly throughout the whole track (with the kind of arrangements you're working with) weakens it.

I like at the 3-minute mark you get that spacey pad. I really liked that, and I think for just that brief half-minute you could extrapolate that into a funky segment on its own. I'm thinking something more in the vein of atmospheric drum 'n bass. After that, you can morph it back into something more grinding.

Keep working on it. Shows a lot of promise.
