I have two on board Network adapters. Thing is i don't think ether is working. I'm trying to get back online but the only way it works is through USB. Tried switching the cat6 cable, modem doesn't work. Is there a way i can test if its working, because in device manager it says its fine. Oh and if its not working will this in anyway effect my motherboard?

Thank you.

Open CMD and ping 127.0.0.1 . It's your loopback address and will test the hardware. Do you have any lights lit on the NIC?

As far as what will happen if they're not working, you'll just have to buy another NIC. :p Did you have any storms lately? Power surges?

If atomicspark85's idea doesn't work, try checking BIOS setup and see if they're disabled.

Good Luck.

What should i look for in cmd? I did that before even posting and i got this.

That means the hardware is working so it must be a software issue. Is your IP address set dynamically or staticly? Do you know? Do a ipconfig /all in cmd and post what you get. Are you trying to connect to a router or strait to the Modem? What type of service do you have?
