I need a co-op rpg in my life and am considering NWN2. Has anyone here given it a go with friends? I'd like to play it with no ai party membes if possible. Is this doable, does it run ok??!

If you can whittle your friends down to 3/2 (2 preferably), have you tried Trine? It's a physics based platformer/RPG, and it's co-op.

I say 2 preferably because if you play with 3 players, it's hard to rearrange which class you are. Oh also it's not online, if that's the co-op you were thinking of.

I have Trine - thoroughly enjoyed it - but need something online.

The SoZ expansion for NWN2 is pretty highly tailored for co-op, I'd try that rather than the original or first expansion.

Has it been comfirmed the west doesn't pay a fee?

Yep, free online and no more pesky friend codes. Demo comes out March 8, and if you pre-order, you get 500 Wii points free. There's also a bundle which comes with a new classic controller for only an extra $10.

i have the Neverwinter Nights 2 gold edition but never installed it. i have off tomorrow maybe i'll give it a whirl. if its like wow and free count me in, for i found it at Target for like $9 last xmas

I played through NWN2 with my friends and it was a pretty bad experience to be honest. I hear SoZ is more tailored for multiplayer, but honestly I would just look for something else. The main problem is simply the massive amount of dialogue, kind of like trying to read a book with three of your friends simultaneously.

As for the party AI, experience doesn't scale with more people and is split between you, the game is pretty easy so it shouldn't be a problem but you would all have to have strong builds and in our case it just didn't happen. We started out with just us but I ended up filling the ai slots with tank's eventually.
