I have mixed feelings, especially when it comes to villains, because the first movie was just so incredibly weak with it, and Whiplash has always seemed silly. But goddamn does that look fantastic. I'm a bit afraid to be optimistic, though, given Marvel's track record.

Yes, and he seems to be a remarkably cliche one as well, which is very unfortunate.

If there's one thing Marvel has never done well, it's villains. From the Dude in Iron Man 1, to The Kingpin in Daredevil, to Doctor Doom, and The Green Goblin, they've all been crap. And do I really need to remind anyone of X-Men Origins Wolverine, or what they did with Venom?

Stryker and Magneto were both okay. But their support cast - Toad, Sabretooth, and Pyro, were all complete rubbish as well.

Molina's portrayal of Doc Ock was fantastic, and the effects and etc were great, but the story (LOL HE'S MAKING A SUN IN HIS APARTMENT) and the fact that Doc Ock had absolutely NO MOTIVE FOR DOING ANYTHING ruins it. That's not a good villain.

Ah see personally I'd class those as plot failings rather than character failings, but each to his own.

As an aside I watched Ladyhawke a few weeks ago, and recognised Molina as a bit-part! Awesome.

I enjoyed Ang Lee's Hulk even though it dragged out a bit too long and changed the origin of Hulk. It certainly had a better cast and performances than the 2008 version. I still remember Danny Elfman's theme from the 2003 version. I barely remember anything from the other version even though it was released 2 years ago.
