State officials in Hawaii on Monday said they have once again checked and confirmed that President Barack Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen, and therefore meets a key constitutional requirement for being president.

They hoped to stem a recent surge in the number of inquiries about Obama's birthplace

the problem is that Hawaii officials didnt read the entire memo ..it clearly says that "birthers" are likely to dismiss this because they are bat shit insane

The US Government probably never thought to check to see if he was AN AMERICAN CITIZEN! Even though dozens of complaints in the news about his birth origin, they never even bothered to check still.
