I'm in an awful predicament here.
Basically I have 1 health left and as soon as I resume the game, I get killed by a combine chopper within 1/4 of a second (if lucky). Jumping or crouching does no good.
Is there a way I can temporarily cheat to get past this? Online cheat instructions don't mention which stick to use for extra health, and besides it has to be during game play and I don't live long enough.
Any help would be appreciated.

Open the console by pressing the ~ button (next to 1).
Type in 'sv_cheats 1', press enter
and then type 'god' and press enter.
Turn godmode off by typing in 'god' again once you have some health.

I'm sorry, I should have mentioned it's an Xbox 360 (and it's "The Orange Box" if that matters). and of course, thanks.

Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A.
Apparently. However, to avoid spoiling the game, why not just go back to your previous save?

[edit] I'm really not reading your posts well, am I. I have no idea - all I can suggest is going to your last save/restarting the level.

Because it's WAAAAAAY back. Funny, I've been saving lots but for some reason it erases all of them and only keeps the auto saves.

Hmm... To avoid getting into this sort of trouble, I often let the game do the saving. Well, first, try both sticks for the cheat, and then try as many other cheats as you can find, and then, if none of them work, I guess it's WAAAAAY back for you! :)

LOL. I suppose But I don't have enough TIME to try the cheats as it has to be during game play. od I feel like cursing up a storm, here!

Thanks very much!

The game saving on its own does **** up things a bit.

In Portal, it autosaved just as I was exiting a portal which I then fell to my death. Luckily I managed to stop myself.

make sure youre not saving over the autosave slot, cos it will just autosave over yours later on.

If all else fails, you could use the new game function to start from the fourth chapter. None of the chapters are so long in the Episodes that you can't restart from the beginning of them and be at the point you got stuck at soon enough.

Well, had to go baackand just ensure I had enough health.
Thanks all for your time.

Unrelated to this how do you see how much battery is left for your controller? I try hitting the center (guide) button but when that particular menu shows, nothing indicated battery life.

Please come back down to earth. It's hard to hold an intelligent conversation with somebody who's in low orbit.

That just tells us you're in outer space.
Take your trolling elsewhere, little 12 year old boy. You can try and reply but I put sexually frustrated people like you on ignore.

Likewise, ****.

So how do I tell how much battery is left in my controller?
