My feelings as well.

They are the hardest to infect since they only have that one port, and nothing else.

My goal is basically do a stealth virus as best as I can, and as soon as someone notices my virus, throw everything I can into making it infectable. Then, save up some points, throw some in drug resistance to help attempt to resist the vaccine, and then finally put all the points into killing.

I did kick ass, except I didn't infect Madagascar, but I got every other country.
 
I actually got it, but then the mofos made a successful vaccine.
 
i havnt managed to infect madagascar yet, i assume youve got to make it transmitted by rodents and give it heat/moisture resistance. they also seem to close the port at the first sign of trouble so you have to keep the symptoms on the light side too.

edit: lol i start a new game and my disease starts in madagascar!
 
It's a cool idea but the gameplay feels really shallow. I played thru it once and I feel like I've experienced everything the game has to offer. The review written on the site makes some good points I agree with as well.
 
It would be cool if there was.. something like this, only where you control the 'zombie' virus and it's various stages in a region until you take control of the entire region, and go out to other places... it would need to be much more indepth, like with the military taking control or coup's in the rest of the world, while you decide whether to make your zombies fast and weak or slow and powerful..

or just vomit over everything.

Edit : anyone remember that other game where it was aload of dots , some representing humans and others representing zombies ina city scape and you could watch how fast it spread?

Thought Greenland is the only place with a hospital open, and they have a ship sailing around forever cause everyone else closed theirs.
What the hell, the first foresaken place - Greenland all of a sudden, and the vaccine progress is still going on (thousands of days though).

I have 0 deaths so far... and 3.5 million people are infected with 12 days passed. This thing is going to be continental before I start experiencing deaths, and it will catch the world by STORM!

EDIT: One minute later, 13 million people are infected and rising now by 1 million per day, even though my days are barely going by.

I assume this is typical for everybody or is mine a super parasite? It's not long now until the entire population of Peru is afflicted by my parasite still with no deaths. That'll teach any Peruvian scientists(Are people from Peru Peruvian?) from curing my disease as they'll be infected too! MUAHAHA.


Even though there are no deaths yet, my disease is almost entirely spread to the Americas, with south America getting hit the hardest since it started in Peru.

The world now dares acknowledge my parasite!

I've effectively shut down all the airports and shipyards in the world in the span of one day all still without any deaths.
 
It's better if you can hit them in the 10 or 20's millions per days... I can hit every region at once.

Also, I meant to say in my post 'it would be cool if there was a game like..' that.

Well it depends on what you want your zombies to do but mine went like this

Fever , insanity , hemmorage and decreased motor skills (i forget what its called).
 
Yeah seriously. I mean for all they know, since nearly the entire world is infected yet nobody is experiencing bad things, there's a possibility it could be a mutualistic relationship, but nooooo.... cowardly humans.

Drag on the square on the map on the top left like the minimap of an RTS game.
 
I finally got madagascarr...

but somehow missed greenland :o

(noooo. im learning world geographies. it's a trap!!)
 
Finally got 'em.

I was playing and saw the usual "madagascar pussies close borders and cease all trade to prevent the spread of a disease with symptoms similar to the common cold'

but then I checked the 'world' tab and they were already infected. :cheese:


Anyway, long story short, I wiped em all out. But I found out the leader board is hacked (all time score is like 9999999999999999999999999), so needless to say I'm done with the game. :hmph:
 
I got close. Wiped out everyone except for Madagascar and Cuba. Still, I would call 30 million people left in the world a victory.
 
Now the madagascarians will rebuild the world. A new day has dawned for planet Earth.
 
Okay this is very frustrating. My virus has infected 20 people... Maximum of 50, but down to 20, and over the course of time they've closed public transit in western europe, closed schools, and now borders of western europe. That's where my virus originates and the only 20 people infected reside. I keep building researching infectious stuff but the infection rate stays at a solid 13, which doesn't even happen. Heh.

Highly unrealistic! grrrr.

Other than madagascar, everyone died. At the end, I had about half the nations died within 20 seconds. First to go was Greenland, then New Zealand. And get this! Greenland had the last hospital remaining, and they nailed the vassicne. Didnt make much difference, seeing as how everyone but Madagascar was infected.

is it creepy that this game cheered me up immensely?

I'm sure if you sell your symptoms, everything will go away quickly, thus reopening airports and seaports.

Also, Greenland and Madagascar stayed for me as I didn't realize till the end of my 2nd try that they have such few ways to get infected.
 
This stupid ass game takes to damn long.

I don't think they open airports. I had my parasite with no symptoms at all conquer the world. Somehow people managed to recognize it and they started closing airports etc. Too late though :D

I started in Madagascar the second time. The first time the damn thing just didn't want to go down.

I've done ones in which my disease never had any symptoms, and Madagascar still closed its port.
 
Started in Madagascar - it's Cuba and Peru I can't seem to infect. Doesn't matter though!

there always seems to be one place that doesnt get infected, as soon as one of them closes their airports/shipyards/borders they all immediately do the same. i had just had a parasite which was fully resistant, and transmitted by all means and because canada closed its borders they were the only place in the world not infected. it wasnt even a deadly parasite, and i didnt get enough points to whack liver or heart failure on there to kill the rest of the world. even the rats and the insects and the AIR were respecting the canadian/american border.

so basicly i had a planet full of people with the sniffles, and healthy canadians.

anyway what tactic are you all using? i find that if you infect the water supplies too early you fail, and if you put too nasty a symptom on too early you fail. the best i ever done was a parasite that caused hardly noticable symptoms that was mainly carried in rodents and the air, that was highly resistant to drugs and medium to heat/cold.
 
I only played the quick version cos I only had half an hour tonight, so I'm assuming the main version will be even more awesome.
