Post a screenshot!

what's the point of carrying a large sniper rifle around if you're never going to use it?
Someone clearly didn't watch my video.

Also, the map we were playing was dumb. 90% of the time a support/specialist position gets a secondary, but for some reason the map maker decided that snipers don't need pistols. So that's why I was running around town with it out.

I cannot believe you guys still use Ventrilo. Move on to Mumble, the best VoIP program available.
We'll look into it.

Or...

TS3 > Mumble.
Both of you have a smug, witty forum fight as to which is better, and I'll try the product of the winner.

hokey is fable lost chapters any good? or is it better just to skip to fable 2?

Fable: The Lost Chapters is the expanded version of the first game. I don't know why the few things weren't included in the original version to start. There is no link in the story, so you can play any of them out of place and still know what's going. I prefer Fable over Fable 2, though.

If you decide to play Fable, get The Lost Chapters, rather than the normal Fable.

Are you guys playing ARMA or ARMA 2?

If it's ARMA 1 I'd play with you.
Oh, it says ARMA 2 in the description.

Hmm.. I might pick it up then.

Will I need the expansions?

Don't get it... <grumble> <grumble>

We barely play it anymore. <grumble> <grumble>

Don't listen to Raz he's just a worry wart.

Seriously, he's just raging because we've been playing more TTT lately.

Well I wouldn't worry if we could blow up a god damn countryside once in a while!

We've touched ArmA 2 like... three times in three weeks. Our rate of play has slid steadily downhill.

That's why I don't want him to get it, I don't want him to be disappointed. We always say how much we play Arma 2 but it's not true. And our lack of playing isn't due to TTT.

OTTD was entirely different, me and Raz became bored with it pretty quickly because it became too easy.

And it's not near as in depth as ArmA.

We've played once since I bought Combined Ops :(

Yeah. The reason I'm so upset is because it's not fair to you. I don't want you feeling demoralized because of it.

That's why I've been wanting us all to play more often, to get more games under your belt.

I don't want other people having to go through the same frustrations.

I mean, your purchase isn't a waste, since we do play ArmA 2 quite frequently(just less lately), and it's not a game we're going to abandon, since we've been playing it for a long time.

Trouble in Terrorist Town. A mod for Garry's Mod.

I only know because I can't play because I don't own Garry's Mod and it makes me sad ;(

I'm the other way, I own Garry's Mod and it makes me sad because I played it and couldn't get into it and it was a waste of my limited financial funds!:(

It's a fun mod. Made by The Green Bunny(current/former hl2.net member... I think he just doesn't come around here anymore).

What makes it fun, is when you're with a group of friends, like hl2.net members, who all have microphones. The traitor terrorists have to work together to secretly kill the innocent terrorists, while the innocent terrorists have to try and find out who the traitors are.

When you play with a group of friends all with microphones, it's a great experience. There's so much double talk, so much scheming and distrust. Innocents try to lay blame on others because they're suspicious, traitors try to sew chaos and lay blame themselves on others to cast away suspicion from themselves. Sometimes you might kill a traitor and thus people trust you, and hang around with you... only for you to find out the person who was hanging out with you was a traitor.

The game really is what you make of it. It can be boring and annoying with a bad group of players, but it can be an incredible experience when you have a lot of good individuals who know how to play the game, and who play it in a way that makes it exciting.

But lately it's been cutting into our Arma 2 time so it's been pissing me off!

I've been having loads of fun playing with hl2.netters (even with 300 odd latency, argh **** not being able to kill anyone quick enough as a traitor), but with much more than 10 of us it becomes a bit of a cluster****. The last few rounds I played we were probably approaching 20 people, and it became utterly indecipherable. So many times I'd say "I'm with Raz" or something, and everyone who just made out the name amongst the rabble would begin screaming "WHAT ABOUT RAZ? WHAT HE DO? OH GOD SOMEONE GET HIM." :|

Still, loads of fun before the tweeny types show up and begin perforating my eardrums.

Yeah, I try to keep an ear out to remember who is with who, in case they stop responding... hoping they'll share the same courtesy to me.

And traitors get caught that way sometimes... people remembering who you were last with when they find your corpse. Though sometimes that isn't enough evidence, and you'll pull your hair out as your killer gets away with it and murders other people.

You guys still playing?

I need more social interaction with the
cool
members of hl2.net.

(J.P. Salas version of Attack from Mars)

Grand Champion title!

I ended up winning 2 free credits for that score and got a number match for another free credit (not like credits matter, obviously)

TTT sounds exactly like The Ship.
I'd play with you guys but Garry's Mod(since it basically requires every Source game to be installed ffff) takes up an insane amount of hard drive space that I can't spare at the moment.

Until then, here is a somewhat humorous sequence of photographs from the Thera mod for Medieval 2: Total War(which is currently hogging up 25gbs on my 80gb hd.)

Legendary general, charging into the enemy!... in what was probably an attempt at suicide.

Hey, there's not that many people left after all. :D

You need HL2 and CSS. And CSS isn't essential, it's just that most people run content from it.

I don't have CSS which means the game is unplayable for me.

Tried out TTT last night, was fun. In a couple of cases when I was alone with someone I thought they had fired at me so I killed them, and they DID turn out to be the traitor, but I was crucified for random death match anyway :\

That's how it's handled on the HL2.net server too, you can't run around killing people you think are traitor without solid proof and consulting with the others I think?

Oh lord those clouds.

Keep in mind this game is still in essence running on an engine from 2001, only updated to more modern standards.

You looking forward to Storm of War: Battle of Britain?

Personally I can't say I am that much, I'm far more interested in it's sequel, which will be a new Korean War flight sim, something I've been longing for a long time.

Me and Raz bought that game, and we have Saitek X52 joystick/throttles.

Unfortunately, we only played a few times :(

I used to have Saitek X52(They're called HOTAS by the way, Hands On Throttle-And-Stick) and Saitek rudder pedals, was even working on buying some touchscreens to use as MFDs for my modern-era based sims.

Then I in an accident lost ALL my profiles I had made for it, easily over 20 hours of work perfecting it for each game, plane etc.

I got so f'cking mad that I sold the HOTAS and rudder pedals.

The good thing though, was that I managed to sell it for only 20% less than what I bought it for(and I bought it brand new!)

Which means the few times I boot up IL-2 1946 these days it's just to setup some big-ass missions and watch the AI fight each other.:(

Does that game play well with normal keyboard/mouse setup?

I don't think of it as being a matter of "Graphic limitations" but a programmer who never really stepped outside.

I wanted to go back and play some more after I got my monitor.

But I am honestly god awful at flight sims. I really wish I didn't suck so badly, because it would be enjoyable. If I could go through a mission and expertly take down fighters around me, dogfighting with real talent, I would probably play the game endlessly.

But as it is... I'm a flying brick. :(
