Pre owned Half-Life 2006 holiday collection

hey I've just purchased a pre-owned Half-life holiday 2006 collection game and steam wont let me use it as it has already been registered to someone can any one help me as i am missing out big time please help!

Get the person you bought it off to give you his account. Product Keys are binded to an Steam account and can only be used once.

You cannot use a preowned copy of the PC version of HL2. Once you register a CD key it is permenantly bound to the Steam account that it was registered to. The guy ripped you off. You should either get him to give you his Steam account details or your money back.
